Really liking my Ping Hoofer Xtreme White, and am really looking into possibly buying a staff bag. Yeah, they are flashy and bulky, but I really like all the room and the fact that the clubs don't get all tangled together.

I was thinking of getting a Bstone or TM staffer. Anyone have any suggestions or inputs on which bag is good for cart riding, or just the idea of getting a staff bag? let's hear it....good and bad.

I don't have a staff bag but I want one, so this is an unbiased opinion.

Don't try to justify why to get one, just do it (if you've got the dough at least). good.gif

I say go for it if you've got a stand bag already because you can switch over whenever.

i've got a nike tour cart bag, that looks like a staff bag. its great because i'm able to get so much more stuff in it than i could my stand bag a nike air tour stand bag. it keeps the clubs very organized. i can hold my shoes, jacket, 2 dozen golf balls, plenty of gloves, lots of yardage books for different courses and pleny of the other stuff. it especially great for traveling. i get everything in it, throw it in the travel case and i'm set, no need to worry about other stuff.

I use the Bridgestone Tour Staff Bag. One of the best bags in my opinion. Large enough to carry anything and everything, but still fits in the trunk of my car. Works great on a Cart, or a pull cart. Here's some pics.

I have a staff bag that I use when traveling because I like the added protection and extra storage room to travel with all my accessories. However if you're looking for a good cart bag then I don't recommend staff bags because all the pockets are not very accessible when on the cart.

NOT that I'm promoting one brand over another but you can see with this bag the pockets are all very accessible from a riding and/or pull cart. Think function before fashion, just my .02

While it may not be fair, Staff bags are like wearing giant sign - "I am a GIANT TOOL and a POSER." If you get one, you should be prepared for some comments/looks.

One thing about staff bags, they weren't really designed to be put on golf carts. As a result, many of the pockets are difficult to get to when they are golf carts. As a result, the OEM's started designing "cart bags" designed to have every single pocket easily accessible while strapped in. Depending upon how much room you need, they come in all sizes.

Most of the time, I carry; however, I take my Ping Cart bag for travel. There isn't much I cannot store in it and it has separate dividers for each club and a putter well.

Good luck,

Bill

not to mention a staff bag doesn't stand very well out on the course...

i wouldn't like the fact that i had to lay her down on the ground all the time...

unless you got someone hoofing for you, a staff bag seems like a silly choice...

the only reason i would buy i staff bag would be to have a nice place to store my clubs in my living room.

A cart bag will be handier on a cart than a staff bag.
I just purchased an Ogio Atlas cart bag. It is big enough to carry alot of stuff, plus has a 15 way top for an extra club when you want to demo one.
My buddy just bought a Sun Ice c-130 it is also a nice bag.
It was a tough decision for me to decide between these two, but bought the Ogio.
