Actually - it makes it harder. The lack of demand means there are very few courses. In Mexico City itself (the second largest city on earth, population approximately 20 million) there are all of five courses.
All private. The closest semi-private course that's open to the public is an hour's drive.
On the bright side, everyone uses caddies (which have almost disappeared in the US), and I feel like Tiger down here (Mexico City is over a mile and a half above sea level, and it is
amazing how much farther balls carry when the air is that thin. Its at least a full club in distance differential ... I was wondering why I was flying every damn green when I first got here).
