I don't suppose anyone here lives and/or plays in Mexico City? I'm living here part of the time now (one of my companies is moving into Latin Markets) - and it is very hard to find golfing buddies. (The stats are depressing: The country has around 100 million people, and approximately ... 20,000 play golf.)

Anyway - thought I might try asking here ...

Actually - it makes it harder. The lack of demand means there are very few courses. In Mexico City itself (the second largest city on earth, population approximately 20 million) there are all of five courses. All private. The closest semi-private course that's open to the public is an hour's drive.

On the bright side, everyone uses caddies (which have almost disappeared in the US), and I feel like Tiger down here (Mexico City is over a mile and a half above sea level, and it is amazing how much farther balls carry when the air is that thin. Its at least a full club in distance differential ... I was wondering why I was flying every damn green when I first got here).

You live in DF? (żEs usted Norteamericano?) Where do you play here? (If you don't mind my asking). I'm thinking about joining Club de Golf Chapultepec (I'm tired going all the way to Madeiras).

Also, do you happen to know of a good golf store here?
