anyone who is familiar with Rivertowne CC in Mt. Pleasant, SC - can you explain whats up with the new rates? i've played this course the last couple of years when i vist charleston and its my favorite course, but last december i paid $60. whats up with it being $120 now???? anyone know a way to save any money to play there? i'm gonna be in a couple of weeks and want to play it again but a few more dollars i can play wild dunes or kiawah island.

Try playing Charleston National on ISle of Palms. I think it is around $60 with cart.

Since Rivertown and Patriots Point joined together to make the Bellvidere Club they think they are a small version of the Kiawah resort, so they think they can jack up their prices. If that's the best course you've played in chucktown you are missing out and Charleston National is a nice track

Patriot's Point is a terrible golf course

i love all the props for charleston national, as i will be playing it quite a bit. my parents live on the 10th fairway, across the street from the clubhouse. i'm already planning on a couple of days of 36 holes there.

i love ccgc, but i really like rivertowne. there is something about that track that i really like. it appeals to my eye. interesting about rivertowne and patriots point joining. i agree, patriots point was disappointing. i like 16 (how often can you stand on the tee box of a dog leg right and say "aim at ft. sumpter and let it fade back in the fairway") and 17.

yeah patriots is pretty crappy and over priced too. pine forest in summerville is a pretty good track if you can get over there

i've played that once before and plan on playing while i am out there. i love the front 9, cutting through the tall pine trees. number 17 has a pretty crazy green too.

You could also head down 17 a bit and play THE LINKS AT STONO FERRY. It was a pretty good track as well.

i'm looking into doing that, but don't that i will have time with the family commitments while i am there. its a bit of a hike from mt. pleasant. kiawah is a hike, but i have family at seabrook to offset that. i'm still going to try and get down there.
