For me IS ECCO but kind of pricey.

This shoes always amaze, even straight of out the box...never hurt my foot at all. And Their durability is pretty good. I have one that is already a couple years old and still looks good.

You've got to understand, this is coming from a guy who broke his ankle twice. vava.gif

Ok, Let hear it from you guys and who got the best price on golf shoes!!!

Cheers & Thanks!

ECCO's are nice but very pricey

Oakley's are great but a little casual (don't get me started with the Tuxedos)

FJ are still the best.
-Gelfusion-feel like a tennis shoe
-Classics/Calssics Dry Premiere pricey pricey, but still the best
-Classics Tour-best of both worlds
-DryJoys-took a big hit with that split sole thing...not the best anymore

I think Gelfusion is the best you can get for dress, Oakley for shorts weather. beach.gif

I liked the Footjoy contours I wore last year, for feel they were great but lacked in looks. I just dropped the jack on a new pair of Callaway's befrore my Az. golf trip, HUGE mistake! Blistered my heel first day and felt like crap since... bad.gif

The gel fusions and new balance are easy on the feet. Ive just got a pair of the cdt power shoes. I think they might be the best. Ill give a report

Eccos here.

www.sierratradingpost.com for great deals on Eccos. The FJ I had were comfortable but, they didn't last that long and didn't hold up well to water.
dkats
Bite golf shoes are the most comfortable to me with their nice wide toe box. They are also very affordable, although the new models look to be a bit pricey.

In the last 3 years, I've probably worn golf shoes a handful of times. 2 weeks ago I finally gave in and bought a pair. In the past I've warn FJ's but couldn't find a pair I liked under the 120 dollar budget I gave myself. I found a retailer that was selling the Adidas Tour Elites and liked them. I have never been a fan of a square toe, but these weren't bad. The suggested retail is 225, but they were 50% off which put them in my price range. I would of bought decided I wanted the black. Went home and found them on ebay for 70 bucks. I've had them for 2 weeks and played 5 rounds with them. No complaints as of yet.

For me, it has to be the FJ X dimensions. Hugely underated shoe imho. Very comfortable and a decent price range too. Only problem is the spikes wear out very quickly for me.

Tried on a pair of Eccos Tuesday at a Country Club that is close to Raleigh and carries the line[at least for now]. The assistant pro said that customers are split on their opinions...some love them and would wear nothing else and some hate them.

This club is ordering less Ecco shoes and will concentrate on FJ.

That being said, the Ecco shoes that I tried on were more comfortable than any FJ that I've worn. They didn't have my size in a traditional style or I would have purchased a pair. I'm too old for the 'tatoo' design.
pitbull808
I saw them the Eccos on TGC's Whats in the Bag the other night. They really did look very comfortable. Now I just have to find a place to try them on here in Hawaii.
ezgo72
FJ Classic Dry Premieres, 9 pairs and counting..simply the best shoe for me..Classic tours are good too, just not quite as traditional..great to walk in though or when it's really soupy out..
brick
I love the FJ Classics but I have a pair of Tommy Bahama shoes that are pretty cool. Comfortable, Great looking shoe and lasting a long time. I get more compliments than any shoe I have ever owned.

ECCO for me as well........feel like slippers

Yeah I have a pair of those. I like the classics with the wood and leather bottoms, and the real lizard skin
mike0814
... i used to like the fj classic dry premieres, but after trying the ecco's i stopped wearing them. ecco's are awesome from the get-go.

are those bahamas water-proof?
tlink2631
The last 2 pairs I've bought have both been gel fusions...very comfortable and you can find them in wide widths.
golfcraze
ECCO'S for me.

Oakley's Next in line.
lohrm1
Eccos... nothing comes remotely close.
wegobomber31
I just bought the Hi-Tec CDT Power shoes. Best shoes I've ever owned. I know they claim you can get increased distance by wearing these shoes -- I can't really attest to that, but the traction is great and they are very comfortable.
taemorin
Callaway golf shoes are the most comfortable i've owned, especially for those with wide feet. They're reasonably priced also.
baimo
I hope you guys are not suckering me in. I just ordered some ecco's.

I agree with you 1000% here Joe. Eccos are the best even straight out of the box they are amazingly comfortable and they last. I dont find them to be too expensive either, you can get them from www.fiddlersgreen.com for around $100. (no tax too! LOL)

Sounds like an"ECCO" on this board! (did you get the double-entendre?)
I am going to have to add to it that Ecco's are supreme.
The Oakley's are good as well, very comfortable, and the new FJ Impulse looks pretty good though I haven't tried this one.

OK...sounds like Eccos are worth a try based on the praise I'm hearing. Now for some fitting advice from those of you who are wearing them.

I know that an Ecco size 44 is equal to American size 10-10 1/2.
But does that really work? If I wear a 10 1/2 M in a Foot Joy Gel Fusion, will an Ecco 44M be the size that fits?

Guess I have a hard time understanding how one European size equals two American sizes and still fits well.

Help me out on this one. Thanks.
dorfblee
I've been pretty happy with Footjoy eComforts. They've lasted an entire year and are still pretty comfortable. Will probably upgrade or pick up a new pair soon.

They're cheap- $80 regular price, goes on sale sometimes.

Ecco has a conversion chart and its pretty close. They are great for people with wider feet. I actually find European sizes fit me better than US.

Ecco Classic Alphas are down to $90 at Golfsmith.com. I love their looks and comfort. Started with Nikes (hard and uncomfortable) and Dexter Mocs (like the slip-ons, but eventually start feeling the cleats digging into feet after a round).
BLADE
I like the Footjoys that I have now...they are the Tour kind with the leather sole. They look sooooo good and are very comfortable. They can be had on ebay for $100, but $300 retail.

FJ Contours I have felt great out of the box and still do 2 years later. Not expensive at all either......

I first figured that ECCOs were overpriced ... then I bought some.

I pulled a pair of my FootJoy Classics out of the closet after about 9 months in a bag with shoetrees. Slipped right on with zero discomfort all day. Still the finest shoes I've ever worn for playing.

I am still looking for this in a waterproof pair. Can't wear the Classics in the wet. They leak like a sieve!
golf2da
Probably a shoe you have never heard of. I live in Texas and had to get them off of the internet. They are sold in California. they are called gripgolf. They are not the best looking but real light and comfortable. They do not have the common soft spike. They actually hold better than the spike. They are really good. I doubt if I will ever buy anything different, I am on my fourth pair. You can go to gripgolf.com and check them out. They are indeed different, but I am sure you would be impressed. If they don't fit they send you a return card that does not cost you to send them back. I do not work for the company but a very satisfied customer and try to get everyone i talk to try them out. I perfer the ATAC because tehy are so light although they are not water proof. The leather is water proof and i bought one of them but i again perfer the ATAC.

Here is THE DEAL. I have Bite Scramble. VERY similar to the Bite Offset on their website. Really a great shoe, wore it out of the box with no problems. The WIDE toe box is great for wider feet like my own. I paid $40 at Costco for them.

Here is a brief description of the Offset. The Scramble is only cosmetically different: 1 Yr WP | Durahide/Leather | Waterproof, comfortable, leather - at a great price point. Add a touch of style, and it's a winner.

I had planned on getting Oakley shoes or Nike SP-6 Tours, but at the price I had to give these a try. They not only work, they actually impress me. I will get another pair of the other shoes, but in all white.
mljones99
Ecco's are great, Footjoy Contours are great for walking (very comfortable), and I really like the Adidas Tour Metals. I have the white pair now and plan to get the black and brown pairs later on.
zojo
I wanted to try the footjoy gelfusions. Those look the most comfortable, but I can't afford any shoe over $100, let alone over $60. So instead, I bought some Callaway cg sport shoes off the clearance table for $50. They're really comfortable too
JHR
FJ Classic Premiers and Adidas second, Nike third. What shoe I wear depends on what attire I have that day. Certain shoes for shorts, certain shoes for slacks and certain colors for certain slacks, I am a mess.
rgegolf
For me is the Foot Joy EComfort. It is the most comfortable shoe but not the most durable. Anyway I will sacrifice durability for comfort and these FJs deliver.

Rob cool.gif
simmoboy
Pritty much any adidas shoe is great i love the new A3 shoes.
MGB
I have a pair of Cyclonic Lennox MD-51 shoes that are my favorites. Seemingly low tech, but very comfortable shoes.
aussiefreddy
Anything FootJoy I love very comfortable and good waterproof quality. I have a piar of X contours that are still going strong after a couple of years and I have recently purchased a pair of Gel Fusion these things are COMFFFYYYYY!!!
schmeidecki
Classics Dry Premiere's that I got for $150
stp
I love my black dryjoys p.r.o they are super stable and very comfortable. i usually walk and have not had a single sore spot or blister. I still have a a pair of fj premiere classics dry in black and brown and they are super comfy but not as shock absorbing and they are not as stable as the p.r.o.

I got a pair of adidas black tour metal shoes last week and walked 18 straight out of the box. AWESOME shoe, low to the ground, supersoft and shock absorbing, even softer on the second wearing, and very light.

Eccos are like lead weights. Very comfortable but heaavy. The tour metals feel athletic and light, the eccos i tried ($190) were heavy and kind of klunky feeling.

As for Oakleys, they should stick to the sunglasses. They look way more funtional and comfortable than they are. imca(in my correct assertion) imho is so weak
MatrixcMan
Eccos. And I've tried them all.

Bites were horrible, but they are cheap.
FJ would be second for thier upper end lines.
Addidas was not bad.
Oakley-no thanks. ugly style.

would have to say Footjoy E-comforts, they have removable heel plugs to adjust for ground conditions. they are more comfortable than sneakers yahoo.gif . got a few pair off of Ebay for 50 dollars including shipping... how could I go wrong ok.gif
daoldguy
I bought a pair of Ecco's (not top of the line) at a very reasonable price on Ebay, and they are fantastic, light and very comfortable. I have been wearing FJ Classics for over 30 years and they are still the best. If budget is an issue pick up Blem's at half the price, I've had pairs go 6-7 yrs with regular use.

In a FJ Classic, I wear an 11 1/2 D with the Ecco's I wear a 46 which is allegedly a 12-12 1/2. I have a pair of Ecco Chukka boots that are the most comfortable casual shoes I own two or three wearings and they just conform to your feet.
alcap26
I normally wear a 12 wide in a Nike shoe....would an Ecco in Medium width work or would some of you with a wide toe area that wear ecco reccomend going with a wide with them if it is offered.
