anyone know when these shoes are going to hit stores...?

Goldenhawk
Nike will ship the TW SP-8 and the SP-8 Saddles later this week. The stores should have them next week.

Just a heads-up, Edwin Watts online has had them in stock for about a week. Just recieved mine yesterday and played first round with them this afternoon. Look nice, feel great not sure about the extra yardage claims but definately the best Nike shoe I've tried.

Just an FYI...

The local Golfsmith and Roger Dunn golf stores will not be stocking the SP-8 TW Tour shoes. I spoke to the manager of both stores in the Ontario/Rancho Cucamonga area and both said that the high price point is keeping them from putting them on the shelves. Ironically they have the Adidas 360's on the shelves and don't seem to be moving too many of those.

Looks like I'll have to buy them on-line.

How does the sizing compare to other Nike Golf or Nike shoes in general? Is it pretty true to other Nike shoes you've owned?
Springbok
TGW has them in stock for $169, no tax, $1.50 shipping

BTW: Could they have made a shoe any uglier. I would have tried them, had they not looked so bad (IMGO)

I like the technology. They don't look as bad from a distance. I think I am going to try a pair. Anybody try these? Is the sizing on?

im going to pick up a pair (i acutally think they look nice) and also would like to know if the size is right on

I prefer Adidas Tour 360 and Footjoy Dry joy Classic.

They are probably great for a long day on the course - but not the coolest looking golf shoes I've ever seen - quite ordinary looking frankly....... beee.gif

I don't have the saddles, but I do have the SP-8 in black. Highly recommended. Very comfortable. Easy to clean. I have a pair of Ecco shoes which I thought were comfortable, but now I prefer the Nike shoes.

I got these from the lovely wife for Christmas. She didn't know what to get me, and I needed a new pair of shoes, so I asked for these. First off, when I picked them up and looked the leather seemed a little thin. Also from a hand feel standpoint they didn't seem like they would be real comfortable. I did however like the look. I have my "sneaker" looking pair of shoes that I wear with shorts but I need a pair when I wear slacks. Hence I asked for these.

I was able to play about a week and a half ago, weather is nice in the mid-atlantic region.

Now onto the course. Well basically the the stiffness and thiness were not there once I wore them. Lots of walking since it was cart path only. Feet were comfortable all day.

As far as performance, hard to tell if any distance was added. I will tell you the swing was off, and I was pull hooking a lot. Distances were shoter but again it's winter. Also with the lower snap hooks it's hard to tell. Norally a 13 handicap, I shot a very bad front with these (56), but shot a 40 on the back. Again, not sure if I was getting used to them, but really off most of the day with my shots just better scrabling the second 9.

Overall very comfortable, look good in slacks, I won't wear with shorts. Are they worth the money, probably not, but I let you know this summer when playing more and the swng is grooved again. BTW, anyone know if they help the putting? These three putts kill my handicap.

My wife got me a pair of the black SP-8 TW Tour shoes for my birthday and I've worn them twice since they arrived. A quick run down...

Comfort - 10 out of 10 -- I had been wearing Nike TW Cap-Toe shoes from 2002 and the SP-8 is a huge improvement. The cushioning in and around the heel and ankle is superior to any shoe I've tried up to this point. The toe box is extremely flexible and makes walking a lot more comfortable.

Traction - 10 out of 10 -- The design of the sole plays a big role in keeping your feet still during a shot. The forefoot is designed with "teeth" in the front that prevent the front of the left foot from sliding forward and "teeth" at the back that go the opposite direction to keep the heel from turnining in. This design allows from a solid foundation and maximum traction. Through the swing the left foot been "immobilized" seems to have helped with good weigth transfer and also made me feel more balanced through the entire swing.

Overall I am incredibly pleased and would recommend them to anyone looking for shoes in the $150+ range.

the sp8 tw's are extremely comfortable and the traction is good aswell, but i would like to put some scorpion stinger pro's in, but i'll have to change the studs all the time as one club i'm a member at has a soft spike policy and the other club doesn't.

This is a very nice and comfortable shoe. Playing up here the PACNORWEST one needs a shoe that is going to provide good protection against the elements. Since buying these shoes my feet have felt a lot better and dry. I own a pair in black and white. I purchased them from the golflocker.com at the price of $159.95.
