Thanks for coming by again! It was the season ending Tour Championship on the Great Lakes Tour last week. I was playing at the Brantford Golf & Country club, about an hour west of Toronto. A little known fact to most, but Brantford is a Stanley Thompson design and a great golf course. It tests every club in the bag with some great par 4's and then gives you a number of opportunities to come back on the par 5's. Classic Stanley!
Our tournament ended up being washed out after the first round because of torrential downpours over the second day. Unfortunate for me as my 76 left me in 31st position with some ground to make up. Not meant to be as the golfing gods had other ideas!
Regardless I did meet an individual who I was paired with on day one who I thought was quite interesting and really illustrated the value of believing in your dream! This player has played on the Canadian Tour for over 10 years and is now setting his sights on the Champions Tour in a year or two. Our conversation like many others on the golf course lead into the old saying 'you have to be good to be lucky and lucky to be good'. But above all else you have to believe in your dream! No matter who you are, where you are or where you've been. Have a dream, make it your own, and never let it go! Think about it every second of every day, and every moment of every day. Always! We went on to talking about success and that to succeed in this game, above all else you need three things: Ability, desire and a dream! Ability speaks for itself. Either you've got it or you don't. Desire has to be as intense as you can imagine. You have to want it more than anything and be willing to do anything to achieve it. The dream is what brings it all together. Your dream is your own. It can be anything you want it to be. Never let it go. Never lose sight of it. When someone really believes in their dream, you can see it in their eyes!
