I had a fantastic day, Tiger is awesome, such a nice guy and really easy to chat to.
Shame i didn't get to play a few holes with him like some of the guys. But my picture will be up for a long time to come!!
WHK
Damn@! That's a nice benefit.

Come on now, we need more details than that!

Sounds like he gave you guys a little clinic, what did he have to say? What else did he talk about?

What a great experience, I'm green with envy!
The Racing Snake
During his clinic he went through his warm up, he said he hits some 56's then 8 irons then onto driver, then back through the bag (SW goes 112 & in he said, 8 iron 152) he'll then hit his first tee shot on the range & not leave till he's got it spot on.

He spoke of his hate of playing in waterproofs (hence soaking @ Ryder Cup)

Why he swapped back to tour head... reason being to control the run of the ball better, Max head was running too far.

I asked him why he pegged it so low with his driver.... which he does!
Some very famous golfer (can't remmember his name) told him when he was 17 that the ball will have less chance to deveate if he pegged it lower.

He was up for answering all the questions & was great with stories. he took my 9 iron as a gift well... but he already had his own back in the bag.

He played texas scramble with the guys & then flew off by chopper after lunch for an EA sports promo.

He's gone up so much in my already high estimations for being such a down to earth & nice guy....

oh i forgot to mention, we had a dinner in the evening & i met KJ Choi, Trevor Immleman, Chad Cambell & Stewart Cink (for the 2nd time) Chad is awesome, he spoke to me for a good while. All really friendly & happy to have dinner with us.

A great day!!

Exactly what I wanted to hear!

Wouldn't expect anything less from Chad, West Texans know how to raise guys right! biggrin.gif

WOW.

What a great day, is so good to hear he's a nice down to earth guy - although you kind of get that impression from his interviews. Would have loved to have seen his clinic.

Good work, I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo jealous.

Ha Ha Ha so your saying the shades he was wearing was due to a heavy night of drinking?? As much as I try to picture that I just can't imagine Tiger getting hammered.. I am sure he has and still does, but he has this image to me where I just can't fathom that for some reason. What a great experience for you! Thank you for sharing with us..
Ascan
What an awesome experience! It's funny, I don't recall hearing anyone who has actually encountered Tiger say a bad word about him -- nice to hear about possibly the most recognized person on the planet.

Thanks for sharing!

What an awesome experience!! Wow!! Good for you!!
maguy1970
Tiger looks pretty jacked up in the pic in the black on the cover of the invite.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Nice to hear the Tiger is down to earth kinda guy.
Sakman
Wow, talk about a lifetime experience...thanks for sharing & posting some pics!
tpariff
That is awesome!

After watching The Golf Channel last night and hearing Tiger comment on "how he (I) hasn't seen the sun in over a week", the sunglasses could be used to hide a hangover. I'm not saying Tiger was hung over, but it doesn't look very sunny in the pictures. That's the first time I've seen Tiger hit a ball while wearing sunglasses.
Placebo
That is definitely the experience of a lifetime! Mucho Gracias for sharing with us.
Bushy
That is such a cool day just watching Tiger hit balls.....
Big D McGee
Dude, that's so awesome! 8 Iron 152! Yikes! Glad to hear he's as nice in person as he appears on tv. Man, he's a golfer, we're all golfers, he just happens to be the best golfer on the planet.

And yeah, Tiger looks yoked up on that invitation! Inspires me to hit the gym again!
Golf_Beauty
Good going! That was a once in a lifetime experience.

Wow!! I am SO JEALOUS!!

Cherish the day my friend...Thanks for sharing!

He is hitting his 8 iron 150 yards? Not as long as I expected, but it obviously gets the job done.
The Racing Snake
i thought the yardage was abit short for him, he's prob got a 100% yardage & a give it a rip yardage!!

Its only kinda sinking in now what happened on that day, Picture is up in the living room, i've told the folks its staying there!

Thank you to my employer Nike Golf!!!! big time!!

Cheers for responses guys, I've got some vid's on my phone.... how can a get these on the forum?!
Ducky
Host them on YouTube (www.youtube.com) and then simply paste the URLs.

Stupid question but I am assuming when you say he pegs his driver low, you mean that he tee's it low?
Sam-Tee-Time
This is an incredible opportunity!!

I consider it a marvelous opportunity to see him once/year at the Byron Nelson Classic tournament here in the Dallas area, but can't imagine meeting him in person. Awesome!!! drinks.gif kewlpics.gif

Tiger is the coolest. When you think of how he is BY FAR the greatest player in history and is so successful on and off the course and still is able to maintain such a grounded personality and could probably relate to just about anybody, thats proof of how incredible his mind is. The guy rocks.
tbowles411
I AM SOOOO @(&#A^^@_A_)$*^ JEALOUS! Awesome!
shoe295
What a grand time! I am now consumed with envy and hatred which will result in my having to stone your effigy for the remainder of the day. biggrin.gif Quite a marvelous device for promoting good will towards your employer; I know if my paycheck provider offered me the opportunity to hang with Tiger and the others you mentioned I would thank my ancestors.

Thanks for sharing your experience as I am once again reduced to living vicariously. Thankfully I don't feel dirty at all! rolleyes.gif
rosskoss
I'm very jealous of your experience. Congratulations! wink.gif

How does his swing look in person? How about ball flight, sound from the driver, iron etc.?
jscw
Nike Golf has positions opening recently? I want the position such that I can play w/ Tiger smile.gif (Who doesn't ? Ans: Phil Mickelson)

very cool. looks like he's about 3" shorter than you ... how tall are you, andy?
The Racing Snake
i think i need to check, I thought i was 6ft 2" but i was told Tiger is this height....... he did seem smaller in real life.......... he's ripped thou!!
Ducky
Tiger is 6'0. So that would be about right.
WriterRay
What a fantastic day! Congrats, dude.

The one time I've seen Tiger hit balls was this April after his practice round at the Masters. I just happened to be near the ropes under the oak trees at the range when he and Stevie strolled over. T-Dub dropped his bag of balls about forty feet from me, and the crowd surge behind the ropes was incredible. He hit seven drivers in a row at a support pole for the range netting. Each ball flew at the pole and then faded maybe ten feet. Then he hit one more at the pole and made it draw ten feet. Then he handed his driver back to Stevie and laughed, as if to say "I can't hit it any better than that."

I do believe that we are watching the greatest player ever, the most focused and determined golfer to ever golf a golf ball. And man oh man, can he ever golf his ball. The way he's shaping his iron shots now just amazes me.
