OK I am looking to go golfing for a long weekend like leave on a Friday and stay somewhere for Friday and Saturday night and golf on Saturday and Sunday. I live in Chicago I would like to go at least 2 hours away to a place that I have never played with a few buddies. If you know of any places that have deals or just have a suggestion please let me know. Thanks a lot.

The Northern Bay Golf Resort in central Wisconsin. I played it in May and really enjoyed it. This is a stunning course that had many great replica holes of championship courses including Augusta, Firestone, Oakmont, Pebble Beach, TPC @ SawGrass and Bay Hill.

Also consider Eagle Ridge Resort in Galena, IL. It has been a few years since I have played there but I remember it to be a great golfing experience. It also looks like they are running some pretty good "end of summer" lodging deals. If you go make sure you play The General course. It is the best one out of the three they have.
