After only playing 1 year and 3 months, I finally broke the 90 barrier today. I've come close many times but just couldn't pull the trigger.

I was in the Fairway 7 times off the tee, and 4 more just wouldn't hold that fairway and ran < 1 foot off into the rough. My putting wasn't the horrible mess that it normally is finally averaged less than 2 putts per hole (barely). My Iron shots were very nice today, but I kep coming up short for some reason. I just couldn't judge the distances today. What really saved me were my fairway woods. I was hitting them long and straight instead of thin and right.

While my score was the best I have posted, it was the quality of the round that I played that made it so satisfying. I really didn't have a bad shot (thin/topped/fat/etc) all round and my 60º lob wedge was a savior!

hey there, great job on your accomplishment! i will always remember the first time i broke 90. it was at waikoloa on the big island of hawaii, shot a 87 on the beach course and made my trip even better. it dosent hurt that it took me 6 months to do it, which made me even happier. wink.gif

take away those doubles man....thats the key...stay away from the big numbers and youll never go above 85 again!

dont remember much about 90....but i remember it took me freaking forever to break 80!! shot soo many 80's and 81's before i finally did it! but congrats man, stick with it!
