So I live in Texas about 15 mins from where they play the new Crown Plaza Championship and about 1 hour from the Byron Nelson. I was looking on PGAtour.com at the packages you could purchase and get into the Pro-Am and something had me wondering. There is all the tickets and stuff you get for your 7000 bucks but there is a "Gold Package Gift". I was wondering if anyone had purchased any kind of package from a PGA Tour event and knows what type of items they get from these.

The CP tournament doesn't have any Wednesday spots open (darn) but does have some Monday spots which I am thinking about. The Byron Nelson also has a spot for 7000 bucks on Wednesday. Always wanted to waste a huge amount of money on golf.

So, anyone know what what gifts they give out? Hell, I get all kinds of tickets, I should bring you guys along wink.gif

The waiting list for pro-am spots at Colonial is years long if you're wanting to buy a package. That said, if you'd like to buy the golf portion of the package, just send me a pm.

This year, Wednesday spots were about $4,500. I'm not sure about Monday spots.

All this Barnett Shale money has driven the price up the last couple of years.

Colonial's players spot package included tickets to the pro-am drawing where you get to meet and interact with players in a social setting (several players showed up), tickets to entertainment night (entertainers in recent years have been Joe Walsh and Glynn Fry, Willie Nelson, Alabama, Pat Green, Dionne Warwick, Vince Gill, and others), shirts, hat's, clubhouse badges, other little stuff. Big gift this year was custom fitted Calloway irons (believe they were X-Tours) and a choice of a Calloway driver or fairway wood.

Most of the tournaments have great prize packages included with the spot. I know most of the people who have spots at Colonial include all the prizes with the spot, but hold onto the bulk of the tickets.
