Just curious if anyone here has ever been/is a USGA PJ Boatwright intern?

PJ Boatwright, Jr. Internship

Like drpino, I'm attempting a career change (after MANY MANY years in the advertising/marcom/print buying/selling world) and am now a Boatwright intern for The Women's Golf Association of MA. I'm exploring the 'business' side of golf - tournament operations, golf administration, etc. (I'm also a marchal at a local public course but that's mostly for free golf that I don't have time to play... and to be entertained by all the other marshals - 70+ year old men of course!).

I came very close to enrolling at SDGA or PGCC (toured both campuses in FL and PGCC in CA) but just wasn't sure the ROI was there for us, given the 16 month commitment, setting up a second household, etc (we're in no position to relocate for my mid-life crisis, I mean career change HA!). I should be getting similar exposure to the business side w/the internship without the significant housing expense (and I'm getting paid, not much, but it's something) but no time to put towards my game... not sure if that's a good thing or not. blink.gif

Would love to hear from other interns if we have any here... or any other comment/suggestions... guess the big question will be what's next once the internship is over... I have about 10 months to figure that out. biggrin.gif

Thanks,
Deb.
