Who is the most intense golfer you've ever seen or played with? If you have a story to add, even better, if not chime in with your vote for most intense tour pro.

I am going to go with Seve for my most intense tour pro. As far as most intense guy I played against, a guy I played against in the club championship a few years ago. On the second hole, his caddy approached me on the green and asked if he could clean my ball since my caddy was fixing the bunker and it was my turn to putt. This guy pulls the caddy aside and aggressively scolds him and point blank tells him not to help me ever during the match. The mistake he made is he was so loud that I heard every word of the conversation. That is a big mistake when you are playing with me. The match lasted 11 holes. i went on a wild birdie run, go figure!

Corey Pavin is probably the most intense guy I've watched on tour. He didn't get his nickname of "Bulldog" for nothing.

A couple of years ago I got paired with a club pro from Missouri. You would have thought he was playing for the US Open the way he was grinding it. On the third hole, he hit a great putt from about 50 feet that was tracking towards the hole. Others in the group started yelling at the ball to go in. It barely missed to which he turned and screamed at a couple of guys in the group "DON'T YOU EVER TALK TO MY BALL".

It never really got any better from there on and was probably the most miserable round of golf I've ever played.

On the other hand I wish every pro would say that to the crowd. There is nothing that annoys me more than watching the golf and hearing some **** or twats scream out on every shot 'Get in the hole!'. Well, that and 'You're the man!'

I am mazed at the control pros show when they hit a bad shot and some idiot still yells out 'Get in the hole!'.

The odd dthing is that it always sounds like the same person yelling.

Were I in charge I would eject them without a warning.

As for most intense, it would have to be Tiger, followed by Monty and a few years back Nick Faldo.

Cheers

It'd be one thing if someone was yelling "wiff it!", or "hit a tree!", but I think most golfers like for people to be pulling for them.

And those tour pro's fully realize who pay's their checks. Without fans those guys are working 40 hours a week like the rest of us.

I cant remember his name but 2 years back he was in contention, a nike staffer, and had his hat backwards and was pumped up and yelling at a PGA Tour event but eventually lost. I think it was John, his name would be nice.

I know the John that you are talking about...his name was John E. Morgan but I can't remember the PGA event. I can't remember Morgan ever being in contention at another tournament, but yes, I do remember this guy. He definitly gets my vote for most intense golfer. This guy was a lunatic, but it was a complete blast to watch him play.

It was at the John Deere Classic.

My vote would be for Pat Perez. The guy never seems to be having a good time and cusses himself worse than you would ever cuss your own dog... vava.gif

Don Donatello for sure. angry2.gif

Pat Perez for sure crazy2.gif , but Don Donatello??? Is that the loser from the Big Break?? I hated that guy!!

1) Pat Perez snaps more than anyone and his trantrum at Pebble was classic. I can still hear his caddy saying "Don't Break it" when Pat was about to snap his driver walking down 18.

2) Davis Love III is too intense. I think that is what holds him back. It seems like he doesn't have any fun out there unless he plays with his buddies like Couples who help him loosen up abit (ex. 2004 Players Championship).

JIM FURYK seems like the most intense to me. I can't imagine this guy having ANY fun in life - he seems so dang serious all the time. Even in person, before or after a round, he ALWAYS seems to be sulking.

Back in his prime, Curtis Strange was as intense as anyone I have ever seen.
