The pictures of CHIII at the Barclays made me wonder who the best players are right now under 30. I know I'm going to miss some obvious ones but here's my top ones as of right now.
Zach Johnson
Ryan Moore
Sean O'hair
Johnson and O'hair have proven themselves to this point with wins on the tour. I think that once Ryan gets through his come back from surgery he'll start posting the scores that he was putting up at the end of last year. His putting is his greatest asset. It appears that alot of the younger players that are coming along right now are the weakest with the putter. Do any of you agree? Why do you think this is?

Back surgery at his age is not a great omen for Ryan Moore's longevity.
I think the putting point is interesting - I have heard the argument that the young players are so focussed on power and driving that the time spent on short game is much less than it used to be.

They are good golfers but they are not from the US, which is where we are looking for golfers from.
When did Ryan Moore have back surgery? I know he had had surgurey never knew he had back surgery.

I'm with you on Moore. I know he had surgery on his hand. I was unaware of any back surgery at all.

Are Lucas Glover and Brett Wetterich under 30? If so, they should be on the list.

I don't think Wetterich is under 30.
I'd add Oberholser to that group. Dan Jenkins (who's covered golf since before it was on TV) ranks him as the best of the young guys.

Wow, I had no idea.
Several good US players between 30-35, but not many below that age.
Might add JB Holmes to the under 30, but he needs some consistancy.
Interesting that the Michelle reply was ignored... and the topic doesn't state MALE golfers but of course that's what everyone assumed... here's a few to consider, in addition to Michelle:
Natalie Gulbis
Cristie Kerr
Paula Creamer
Juli Inkster
Morgan Pressel
all, except Natalie, are in the top 10 of the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings, June 5, 2006. Natalie comes in at 13th.
