Hey fellas...sorry to sandbag onto your thread but we're all on the same team right? I'm a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy. Although I'm in the Navy I've worked with squadrons my whole career so I know more about aircraft than I do about ships. That kind of makes us cousins right?

I'm currently stationed and teach at a weapons school in Lemoore, CA. I work with the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet. I've been stationed at Miramar, CA (worked on F-14's); Viginia Beach, VA (F-14's again); Pt. Mugu, CA (Weapons Dept); and have been in for 13 years.

I've deployed on the aircraft carriers Carl Vinson, Stennis, Lincoln, and Reagan.

My index is 8.5 this month and I've been playing golf for about 6 years.

I'm Capt Felix Cruz-Montanez and I'm stationed at Andrews AFB, MD. I've been in almost 9 years now and should pin on Major next summer so I'm looking forward to the raise! Right now I'm the Installation Deployment Officer so I coordinate the logistics of getting people from Andrews to their deployed locations--pretty boring work and looking for something new even thought I've only been here 6 months! I've been stationed at Charleston, Moody, Nellis and Maxwell. Been playing golf since 1996, but seriously since 2003.

Just wanted to say 'thank you' to all of you. I have many family member that are serving or have served. I have an idea of what it takes, and it takes a lot!

My wife is currently considering the Air Force, but the local ROTC has been nothing but discouraging - sad too. You'd think the Air force would be all over a women that is getting her masters in Geographic Information Systems. I think the our colleges ROTC must have had a few sour women roll through recently, because they've done everything the can to discourage her from joining.

Thanks again for all your hard work!

I was doing advertising for AFROTC for two of the three years stationed at Maxwell and the other year I managed the national call center for the website, afrotc.com. The problem with your wife's degree is that it's not considered a technical degree (anything in Engineering, computer science, chemistry, meteorology). For someone seeking a graduate degree they're really only going to look at those majors. Her best bet would be to apply for Officer Training School, which would take her 12 weeks to complete at the end of which she'd be commissioned as an officer. Chat with a recruiter and they should be able to help you out. She would be able to apply a year before she graduates. If you've got other questions PM me.

I'm TSgt Tommy Bowles, assigned to the Pentagon. I've been there since 1999 (in my second tour). My only assignments, other than the Pentagon have been at Ramstein and Andrews. I work for the Assistant to the Secretary of the AF (Intel Space Tech). I've got 18 years in and am grinding to 2008.

I've been golfing since 2004 and am desparately trying to break 100. I'm so close! HA!

Her degree is actually considered techincal. A lot of GIS is satelite communication, imagery, computer programing, etc. If the CIA wanted her, I don't understand why the Airforce wouldn't be all over her. The local ROTC left a very bad taste in her mouth, and while its always something she has considered, I doubt it'll be anymore.

Thanks for the replys and PMs. I'll get back to them ASAP - but I'm currently posting on my PPC and for some reason it doesn't like PMs...
