From CNN's website
Dirty problem
Phil Mickelson returned Saturday morning to resume the rain-delayed second round when he noticed the hole on the sixth green was not in the same spot as it was when he left the course the night before.
The new hole was about 3 feet away, and there was a good reason for the relocation.
Someone had defecated in the hole overnight.
"They tried to clean it up as best they could," PGA Tour tournament official Slugger White said. "The more they cleaned around the cup, it tufted the grass up."
The best solution was to move the hole, and officials had the players move their ball marks the same distance. White wasn't sure if there was precedence in a book of decisions on the Rules of Golf.
"That's just common sense," he said.

Man that says alot about a person's character. "Hey what'd you do last night?" "Ahh not too much, pooped in a golf cup." What on Earth is that all about?!?

Gotta say, I have never heard of that move. Must have taken hours in the think tank coming up with the "poop in the cup" strategy.

And I thought driving on the green with your truck or a golf cart was bad.
Wonder if they saved that for evidence in case someone rat's on the guy?
But maybe that putt didn't fit PM's eye and he had someone do it on a dare? I kid, I kid.

This reminds me of when I was in tech-school in the Air Force. Everyday, someone would shat in the stairwell at our dorm. Everyone was looking for the person to get revenge for the extra duties we had to perform. He was dubbed the "mad-shatter".

Its funny they also didn't steal the ball marks left on the green and on the course from the suspended round.
That is really sick. I'm sure they have a DNA sample if they wanted to pursue it.

This guy shouldn't be hard to find. Some idiot is walking about with messy fingers or dirty shoes or something. I can't imagine that he went out there with some Charmin and Handi-Wipes to clean himself properly afterwards.
No worries...He'll be discovered soon. I'm sure he'll wind up on a Police Blotter or the 2006 Darwin List eventually.

Growing up here in Dublin, I know that vandalizing the golf course(s) is a pretty frequent occurrence. Sad but truee, not that I know personally, as far as you know. But many young people here live like they're on the OC...and when there isn't any natural drama, it livens things up to create your own. You might think the sports cars, and big screen TV's would keep them satiated...but nothing replaces the loving attention of one's parents. Well, exept for night-dumping. Just dumping at night...with the 15 year old daughter of the dean.
That is a funny story overall, sad but funny.
Where was the security? Just a thought, if someone can get in and crap in a hole , what else could someone do?

well I do know that they pay college kids to sit around and guard the beer stands each night. they even provide the tap. 6 is a ways from the clubhouse, and pretty accessible (considering the green plastic mesh fence as the only deterrant).

As disgusting as it is.....
As much as I would never do that....
As much as I would not defend that guy in court...
....I´m still laughing my butt off.....

That´s the funniest story that I´ve heard in lightyears...
You gotta have some creativity to come up with such a sick idea.... I mean, he did not hurt anybody physically nor cause any financial damage...
Insane!

As gross as it is, it isn't intirely original. This same exact thing happend to our club last year, during the night, we had all of our pins stolen, also on the 9th and 18th green, someone placed human excriment in the cups, this was the night before the Member-Guest!! Quite discusting, but where was some 'light' discussion about it in the 19th hole after the tournament.
