Why, are you going skateboarding? Sorry, couldn't resist. I'm a traditional guy. No info here...but good luck.
jbethel27
haha im only 18 so i dont think it would be too odd for me on the course w/ them lol but good news is i can skate back with them when im done at the course right? partytime2.gif
golfingnut300
Looks like hes looking for his skate board. Looks very unprofessional!
jbethel27
so does his scraggly beard and baseball hat but it works for him i like it a lot for a younger guy
golfingnut300
all he needs now is a ripped tee shirt and some baggy board shorts
2underpar
Do those shoes even have spikes?
jbethel27
well thats why everyone chooses how they dress in the morning.. just cuz you think he looks bad doesnt necessarily others do.. i like the look.. i was just wondering the same it almost doesnt look like he does!
iteachgolf
C-hopper is the name of the shoe. It is a golf shoe made by Puma.
Mr. Fair
Look like some Airwalks to me.
Cberry
they are very close to the puma jetsetters, which you can pick up pretty cheap online. or go to a puma outlet store they will have them

I'm not sure what brand Ryan Moore's are, but Radioactive Golf sells the same skate style golf shoes.

Don't know anything about them though.

EDIT: Yep, looks like the folks above were right, Pumas.

i love how Moore really seems to create a divide between the old timers and the new generation. Not everyone out on the course wants to look like they just snuck out of the boardroom or frat house
Harry Longshanks
Maybe it's me, but Moore looks to me like he falls squarely in the "hipster" category.
Smokey916
The shoes are awesome I own a couple pairs. Its just the super tight pants that look retarded.
petter7

He wears several different styles......

fore_life
LOVE_NaYeonChoi
anyone have more links to shoes like these?
Panerai111
Are those gray jeans?

He defiantly is, He just fits right into the Seattle indie/hipster scene, which is his
hometown.

He's a pretty cool dude actually

and to the person who said they look like skateboarding shoes, they look like low top converse, nothing like skateboarding shoes.

Actually, I thought they looked like "Vans" more than low top converse. Hence, the skateboarding shoe comment.

I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say those are a corduroy of some sort (with "5 pocket" "jean" look)
silver77
His clothes look alright but do they come in his size? Is that the boy Band look.

Gotta disagree with you on that one.

DC Skate shoes:

Vans Skate shoes:

Etnies Skate shoes:

Ryan Moore's Pumas:

Totti
The announcers commented on his shoes several times... as did the fans! They also commented on how the fans of the san francisco Giants would be estatic that Moore was rocking their insignia on his hat and bag... I guess they dont go to GolfWRX. Maybe if he wins he can plug Scratch instead of a Baseball Team. A bit rediculous on the part of the announcers.
farmer
Whatever he wears, he seems like a nice guy with a lot of game, and golf is just a game.
BTO
No disrespect to the "traditional" ilk but my wife and I were just talking this am. how Moore is a breath of fresh air, much like Poulter albeit in a different direction. I am so sick of these cookie cutter college boys and it is nice to see Moore following his own drummer. And I'm 55 yrs. old!! Got to get me a pair of them shoes and the vest over the shirt is the coolest also.
uscman
ohhh....ohhhh.....ohhhh......oooh... you got the right stuff baby

He looks like a clown no matter the age

yeah so do i, he doesnt want to be the average guy out there. hes young and fits scratch golf perfect.
KMeloney
I'm all for some of the crazier clothes you see on tour -- I just don't like Moore's style. I've been wearing Puma golf shoes for the last few seasons, just not ones like Moore's. I'm just not a fan of that look for golf.

That's probably going to be his outfit for the next tournament.
I am not against change, but this is still considered a "gentelman's" sport. You can still have change and look professional. He looks like he just finished cleaning out his garage.
Clubtuner
I'm also in my early 50's and it IS nice to see someone that
doesn't look like everyone else.
Good for him!
bob86gn
IMO, He does not have the body to dress like that. His shirt looks one size too small and the pants look too tight. Ian Poulter, Badds or Jesper could all pull this look off and be ok.
Hogan81
Its nice to see something different out there instead of a walking billboard. Some of these guys are running out of space to advertise. It wouldnt suprise me to see Viagra down the front of a players zipper if the gave them enough money.

The shirt he wore for the last round of the HSBC didn't fit. He does not look like a chubby guy, but the shirt left you with the impression he has moobs and a muffin top. I don't care about his style, shoes, whatvever ... but get a shirt that fits.

How many other golfers (regardless of skill level) get a thread devoted to their wardrobe?
Love it or hate it, everyone's entitled to their opinion but the bottom line is, people are talking about it, so mission accomplished.

Personally, I'd take Moore's wardrobe over any of the cookie-cutter, pleated-khaki, oversized polo shirts with short-sleeves covering your elbows, etc. etc. any day of the week. His style isn't for me (on many levels) but I am not offended or bothered by it in any way. There are only so many ways a guy can express himself, especially on the course, so I find it refreshing.

And talking about the "history" of the game and how it's a "gentleman's game..." what does that have to do with anything? Things evolve. He's wearing pants and a collared shirt. That works for me. If you want to get into history and how this is a gentleman's game, remember there was a time when the sport of golf was reserved for super-rich white men. I think most would agree that the sport has evolved into something that includes anyone and everyone, regardless of sex, race or economic status.

Again, his style isn't for everyone and I'm not IN ANY WAY saying "if you don't like his style you're racist" but I'm just saying that things evolve, and there was a time in history when certain racial and ethnic-groups playing golf was considered radical, so I just don't think Moore's pants or shoes qualify as something that should turn the sport of golf upside down.
vwgolfer
Not my style, but HE IS ON TOUR and I am just a loser reading a blog. Good to see someone not dressing like a KHAKI ROBOT. THAT SWING is so ugly worse than the clothes, but once again he is making $$$$$$$ and I am just a loser reading a golf blog.
johnnymac2201
If you're one of these guys talking about dressing traditionally on the golf course, then I hope your playing in plus fours and button up shirt with tie and vest. You know the old Walter Hagen look. That's what I think of when I think traditional. Or maybe better yet, how about a nice waistcoat ala Old Tom Morris.

The clothes we wear on the golf course reflect our times. I think Ryan Moore looks just fine.
openwater32
This is a little off topic, but if " new age, hipster, euro look" style is attracting young players to the game I'm all for it.

Here is a zoomed in pic I took of him at Sawgrass earlier this year.

Best post of the thread so far.
Nicely done!
Golffabrik
Ryan's style brings at least something different to the tour, and in my eyes doesn't look that bad. I wonder how the shoes would go with my Loudmouth pants.

Only one way to find out....
Dr Rangelove
The thing is he pulls it off. Does this mean we'll soon see Phil going with another hip wardrobe change kinda like he's done in squeezing into spidermans hand me downs?

Ryan was one of the few out there that didn't look like he was worried about slighting sponsors or fans, just go out and play a little golf. That to me is refreshing and I'm an old fart. So to me the bottom line is good on him and good on Scratch for picking him up as their sponsor, I hope the best for the both of you.
OneBowTie
Golf seems to be loaded with stylists...... I loved the way Payne used to dress...... I used to like when Duval wore those dress looking Tee shirts......I think Poulter adds a refreshing look......Tiger and Phil wear their style well.....and now I believe Ryan has added another flavor to the wardrobe scene.... and as mentioned above, he does pull it off
