http://www.pgatour.com/2009/r/11/02/2010.schedule/index.htmlNice to see they moved the Turning Stone event to the regular season albeit opposite a WGC event. Maybe it won't sleet this year. Supposed to be a one year transition so perhaps an even more favorable date in '11 for that event.

Just curious, why isn't the fall series schedule released at the same time?

Still sad they lost the event in Milwaukee, too many good courses to not have another event here in the Midwest.

It would be nice of them to list course names instead of Sponsor and City, which are less relevant in my eyes.
I believe the Canadian Open will be contested at St. George's next season. Nice!

I'm guessing the fall series hasn't been released because there may not be a fall series.
As golf fans, we better hope for a good year and a turn-around in the economy.
By a quick count, I see 6 fewer events next year. Of the 30 PGA run events remaining, 4 are on the schedule without a title sponsor listed. Of the 26 remaining, 8 have documented issues going past 2010 (or have been notified the sponsor is gone).
So, roughly 40% of the tournaments are having sponsor issues (more if you compare against 2009).
I've heard of some of the changes the PGA is making to appeal more to sponsors. It will be interesting to see if they have an effect and can keep the ship afloat.

Using this link you'll find a hint about the most critical issue in 2010 golf. Page down to July 12-18 and you see a listing for "The Open Championship." Then click on "TOURNAMENTS" in blue type at the top of the page and you see the current 2009 schedule. Across from "July 16-19" the "British Open Championship" is listed.
There's apparently been a secret move afoot to accommodate the Brits in this age old name controversy. That wily PGA! What will they be up to next?

Is Arizona, Florida and especially Ohio, not on the globe? There has been a tournament at Firestone for over 40 years. Sorry Akron is not some exotic locale but it does have history on its side.

Turning Stone had better be getting something else out of this, since the world's top 70 players will be in Akron at Firestone. At least in the fall series, they pulled in some of those players. Now if Kuchar stays in the top 70, does he go to Turning Stone as defending champion or to Firestone? That should be an interesting choice.

I think Turning Stone was willing to accept a temporary, but less than ideal spot, in '10 in anticipation of a better, more permanent, spot in '11. In '10 they will likely have a field that is similar to what they've had in the fall series but with a lot better weather.

Ya the Canadian Open will be at St. George's... The changes they've made there over the past year have been amazing. Should be a good tourney.

Perhaps the Turning Stone chaps should talk to someone at Nemacolin (84 Lumber Classic) about how the Tour can change their minds about better spots, or what they charge (after an agreement has already been reached) for those spots.
And a similar field is a bit of a stretch...

How about these sites for the Majors. Augusta, Pebble Beach, St Andrews and Whistling Straits. Man I wish I had an unlimited travel budget to get to those tournaments!!!
