Any advice on who makes the best long sleeve polo for golf? I have some Lacoste ones that dont last long enough and the price tag is too much for me these days. Should I go with Nike, Adidas, UA or ?

Try not putting your Lacoste Polo's in the dryer. Tumble Press on low and Hang them dry. You'll find that they last A LOT longer. I've had some lacoste's for 5-6 years.
If you're still not keen on that material, I'd look into the Under Armour Tech longsleeve, or the Adidas ClimaWarm Long sleeve shirts. They're both fantastic rags.

Go for something with Polyester if you want it to last. It will also add a greater freedom of movement. I would suggest an Adidas Climalite long sleeve Pique Polo. TGW has them. You might also want to consider a baselayer mock as coxrl suggested if you're going for warmth.

I know this isn't what you asked, so feel free to ignore me if it isn't relevant but when it gets colder, I like to wear a lightweight lambswool sweater over my summer tech polos (e.g. Nike Dri-Fit). I find them less constraining and if it warms up, I can take the sweater off.

Hate to add to the threadjack but I agree here. I wear merino and cashmere sweaters over UA polos and the like. I've found that the current UA/Nike/Adidas longsleeves are a little too thin and don't keep me warm enough.

Puma makes a great baselayer shirt that retails at $36.00 so you can wear it under a polo or piece of outerwear to stay dry and warm. They also make a cool 1/2 zip mock technical piece that is $70.00

RLX makes some amazing long sleeve polos that are technical but don't appear technical so you can wear them off the course as well.
