Bandon AND Monterey! Easily done in 7 days.
OpusX20
Bandon. I'll bring the cigars. drinks.gif

Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, Australia
BandonOrBust
Bandon, Chambers Bay, Victoria Golf Club in BC...

or

Kidnappers and Barnbougle...

or

wherever my friends want to go...
elrey23
Definitely Cape Kidnappers. Bandon, Monterrey, etc., those are places I will realistically go in my life and I wouldn't need 20,000 to do it. New Zealand and Cape Kidnappers is a once in a lifetime opportunity. So it's definitely Kidnappers for me. Private Jet, 3 good friends and 2 rounds at one of the most breathtaking courses in the world. Sounds like a hell of a week.
crtssxc
Wherever my friends wanted to go.... maybe saint andrews. Nothing better than good friends and a round of golf. between airfare, a few rounds at the old course and a place to stay, could easily blow 20k in a week there.
One_Putt_Blunder
Days one and two four rounds at the bandon courses. Fly to Monterey the night of day two. Day 3 rounds at pebble and spyglass followed by a flight to New York. Day 4 Bethpage Black in the am. Afternoon flight across the pond. Day 5 round at St. Andrews old course then a flight to New Zealand. Days 6 and 7 rounds at Cape Kidnappers and Kuari (sp)Cliffs. That should about cover it.

I am still not sure what i would do, I would love to go see the masters, play Pebble and St Andrews. I don't think $20K would be enough to "buy" your way onto Augusta.

Or you could look at going to some celebrity golf school, buy you way into a decent pro-am I think ONE spot in a PGA pro am runs about $10K - so you buddies can have tickets to watch you

Got give this some more thought?

Actually, for 20k you could get 4 pro-am spots at most tournaments and have a decent amount left over. IF you played in a Monday pro-am, you'd have more than half of your money left to spend.

For me, I'd go to NYC area. Bethpage, National, Shinnecock, Winged Foot (both courses), Quaker, and a day trip down to Pine Valley.

3 days of golf, day of rest, 3 days of golf. That's all my back could take and I'd still hurt on day 8-10.

With only 20k, we wouldn't be staying anywhere too great with the above trip.
Fr3ak
It would very difficult to get a foursome on at Bethpage. Unless they campout, which...if i had 20k to spend on a golf trip, I wouldnt be camping out to play Bethpage.
BEND OF THE RIVER GC
Play all the Bethpage Courses then fly out of NY for Ireland and Scotland. Play as many as we could and then return, maybe hit Bandon on the way back!
theelvis510
Let me clarify my earlier post. 20K would get you laughed at trying to get on Augusta. I'd stay over at Reyonld's Plantion and play in the mornings, hit up the tourny in the afternoons. Or Bandon, either way not a bad week.

Not to mention only $20k which the above trip wouldn't touch with the amount you'll be paying in airfare for 3 people!

im actually shocked at how few people have suggested scotland. you can do bandon/new york/cali/etc with a cheap flight or a day in the car.

with the amount of cash youve got, do something insane. new zealand looks incredible. i lived in scotland for a year and the golf experiences i had there border on life changing. why not hit up ireland while youre at it? you havent lived until youve had a pint of guinness in ireland.

i actually think it might be difficult to splooge the 20k in the states if youre trip doesnt involve bottle service and silicone implants.

Northern Ireland - playing a rotation of Royal County Down, Royal Portrush, Portstewart Strand, and maybe Castlerock

I would hit up Studio B and buy 18k worth of putters then come back to Cali and spend 2 k to play Pebble Beach.

LOL Do some "night putting"

I say New Zealand. Cape Kidnappers is a life goal for alot of us on here.

BTW If you need a new friend, well lets just say I got your back man biggrin.gif
dpark
Funny that lots of people mention Bandon. It isn't possible to blow $20K at Bandon in 7 days. It is incredible golf but it just isn't that expensive smile.gif

You might be able to spend $20K at Pebble in 7 days if you stay at the Lodge, get caddies for every player and play 36 a day.

I would definitely go for Scotland or Ireland. But I guess you lose 2 days (one in each direction) but I would take 5 days over there vs. 7 days anywhere over here.

night putting indeed LOL, I had a few mates suggesting a Thailand golf tour recently and the notion of leaving the cluibs behind did raise its head.

Nice to see the interest in a couple of those spectacular New Zealand courses. You could get a lot of golf in NZ for $20k
dgrelecki
20k wouldn't get you laughed at to get onto Augusta. There is a high school here in Indianapolis that has a round at Augusta for 3 up at auction every couple of years for their fundraiser..it usually goes between 18k and 25k
joekelli
I would get all 4 of us fit for new gear ( $4000 each). Then hit every top course in the area within driving distance with the rest of the money.

Or I would take those 7 days to go around and get gift certificates so we wouldnt have to do it all in 7 days! Schooled.gif

First thing that came to my mind...
BENNYSUPREME
Old Head, Ireland just the picture make it looks like a once and a life time place to play unless you are from there

maybe El Camaleon at Mayakoba, Mexico

Sandy Lanes Golf Club in Barbados, easy 20k there. Green fee: 385 x 7 x 4 = $10780 if all four played all seven days, cheapest Room: $7000 only if the waved the 14 day min. and let 4 guys stay in one room, or you can get Tigers room at 25k a night. Oh foregot plane tickets.

Or How about the Teeth of the Dog, Dominican Republic. greens fees and rooms are fairly cheap.

4 people for 3 nights in Pebble's Ocean Studio, 3 rounds at Pebble, Spyglass, and Spanish Bay....incl meals on-site will easily top $15k....don't ask how I know. biggrin.gif Gets even more expensive if you start talking suites.

I'm sure 4 people can waste $5k at Bandon in a mere 3 days, especially if they take a cottage.

Anyway, that's my 7 days with the loot.

I just figured out costs for a trip to Bandon for 8 days from Montreal and the cost is 4K CAD per golfer. That's not even staying at the Bandon Resort and playing when the green fees are the cheapest. I'd say spending 20K at Bandon in 7 days is quite easy.
