Allenby vs Kim tomorrow. What more needs to be said? REVENGE time for KIM. Hope he stuffs Allenby good.

mat562
Clash of the Egos Part II.
kekoa
At least Kim can back his up. smile.gif
SpartyOn1982
Kim didn't play all that great today. Best shot was his second onto the 18th. That was sweet and just in the nick of time.
mosesgolf
Guys who play at that level all have egos. One thing about AK is that he never comes off as a jerk and is respectful to his peers. Allenby seems to usually have a f'off look or an f'off attitude that showed after his drubbing by AK at the Presidents Cup. biggrin.gif

mat562
In all fairness, Allenby was winning numerous tournaments years before Kim was even strutting about the place at college annoying people as a hobby. That said, Allenby's no slouch when it comes to having a head the size of a beach ball. From what I've seen of him over many years he's comfortably in the very top tier of arrogant and unapproachable professionals.

The two of them together, particularly after all the chinning on in the Presidents Cup, will be a true handbags at twenty paces job.
produffer
hopefully allenby's cronies will take pictures this time of ak stumbling in at 4am!
verse214
It would have been one thing if Allenby saw AK stumbling in himself but I've lost all respect for him after he said, "So and So saw AK stumbling in"

D-bag

I hope he gets crushed.

I don't think it can be considered revenge if Allenby gets waxed again, more like revisting Kim's domination of him.
Mat, I usually can understand the queens but im going to need some help with this one "true handbags at twenty paces job".
Panerai111
Is this one TV? This should be good.

It's a bit of a euphemism commonly heard in my part of the world and probably best described as an unseemly and petty squabble between two petulant parties over what generally amounts to a trifling matter.

Thanks Mat, I had a feeling it was something like this. Of course I live in a state that allows concealed carry of handguns so that could take on a totally different meaning for me.

Rumor has it AK is planning on knocking on Alleby's door at 4AM all wastoid, and then beating him later that morning.
buckman821
I hope AK does not show up hungover but rather still undeniably drunk from the night before then spanks allenby again.

IBTL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cheesy.gif

Can't wait to watch this tomorrow morning!
ClarkGrswld4
I'd like to see Kim win then in the post-round interview say "Well I'm certainly happy to have won, but I didnt have my A game today, stayed out a little too late last night"
kool-aid
I hope allenby shows up with a belt buckle the size of his head

Completely agree- would hopefully make for some interesting tv viewing...
mat562
Or, conversely, a thumping Allenby victory followed by 'You actually can go and and get hammered tonight Son. After all, you haven't got anything you need to get up for tomorrow now...'
mosesgolf
Or if AK wins, he can tell Allenby, "I guess you havn't been practicing like I told you." or "Wax on right hand wax off left hand." biggrin.gif

Dear Lord this is a funny post Mat, but I have to disagree with you in that AK is probably one of the most approachable guys on tour, while he may be arrogant, He doesn't act aloof.

You must have caught him on a good day. Albeit he's seemingly making an effort to be a bit more respectful these days, he's still renowned as a 'confident' individual.

Back in his younger days, numerous people have gone on record as describing him, not as confident, but as a bit of an Olympic standard ****.

He's certainly a fine player, but I'd rather spend three hours trapped in the hold of a sinking ship with Ross Fisher or Steve Stricker than five minutes on a fairway with Kim or Rory Sabbatini.
tigerphan
Kim just holed out on hole 9 ( his 27th) to take a three up lead, holed it out from 101 yards/meters? Either way still a great shot

Nicely stated!! cheesy.gif

I must say, however, that based on my personal observations, Allenby is the significantly larger arse of the two.

I'd have to say that both Allenby and Kim could handle a 20% attitude discount with no problem...

That said, Kim having Allenby putt everything out–including a 2ft putt when he is up 5 with 6 to go–is making a mockery of the sportsmanship we associate with golf. I guess AK's balloon-like head has not told him he needs to be the 'bigger man' in this situation.

Can't see him pulling this crap with Cabrera in the final. Despite Kim's alleged LA 'street cred', Cabrera could handle him with one hand tied behind his back.

I don't know if I would go that far about Cabrera handling Kim easily. Kim is playing as well as anyone. It wouldn't be a total dispatch like he just put on Allenby, but it would be much more interesting to watch where it could go either way.
mat562
Agreed.

Even with the distraction of his Mr Majeika-esque bit of spare hatband flapping about with gay abandon, Kim's playing some decent golf.
howdyho
Allenby deserved the a** beating that he got. There's an unwritten code among athletes in all sports that you don't go running your mouth off about another player to the media whether it's truthful or not.
DtheV
I'm so glad Kim destroyed Alllenby!!!!!!!!!
cAsE sEnSiTiVe
To summarize: AK won the 'Battle of the Tools' today.
howdyho
At least AK is our own American tool.
mosesgolf
A sledgehammer vs a rubber mallet.
wrekt
I think there are bigger tools in the world than these two guys. That said, Kim can be a bit cocky but he is still pretty young and young folks make those sorts of errors from time to time. Allenby doesn't have the same excuse, though.

Regardless, Kim played awesome and deserved the win.

Allenby now complaining that Kim made him putt out too much......Waa, Waa, Waa!

Allenby is put off by Kim because Kim displays many of the same character defects that Allenby has......they're brothers!

Kim vs. Fisher. Should be a good match!
MtlJeff
boy Ross Fischer sure is good at match play huh? Wasn't he in the semis at the accenture too?

I have seen Allenby putt....I would make him putt out from 3 feet as well....the result cant be that surprising, Kim is a much better player, at what 23 than Allenby ever has been.

i read that too, man Allenby really needs to shut his mouth. He should play in an amateur interclub tourny, putts of 6 inches don't get conceded very often. And it's not like Allenby is known for being Crenshaw-like with the putter.

More wah wah wah from Allenby. Hasn't this guy learned?
Ross Fisher's got some game and tomorrow's match will definitely be exciting.

I should have said IF he makes the final. Good semi final btw Fisher/Cabrera though... almost called on account of darkness. Hard to call the final. I think Kim would be a slight favorite. Might depend on how many Holidaying Englishmen turn up tomorrow.

Sorry Mat but I really have to disagree with you.

I saw him at two different tournaments, 2 years apart and he was probably the nicest guy there.

At the Reno Tahoe open his rookie year (also in the height of his carousing years) He took the time to eat lunch with me and hang out with me multiple days of the tournament (and this was when I was just a 14 year old kid) He is very cocky on the course, but at the end of the day one of the most approachable, cool and down to earth guys on tour.

and during the presidents cup this year, while I didn't have the opportunity to chat with him, he was the only guy to actually acknowledge my presence when all the teams were walking from 17 to 18 tee watching the mickelson/ohair/- singh/clark match

Seems like Kim's weakness is about a foot closer to the hole judging by his performance this morning... I guess the secret to beating Kim is don't criticize his partying and you're halfway to beating him.. black eye.gif
tbowles411
He simply didn't play well. He had no answer for Fisher. Fisher was just steady all the way around. A good win for him.

What a crap event. The sight of 24 year old men getting buggies between holes makes me sick. Who chose such a stupid venue? And 250 yard par 3s? As a Brit I used to look forward to the Wentworth week, great course, with history and very appreciative fans. At Finca it was a case of more marshalls than fans. Come on Volvo, keep up the sponsorship but find a decent venue.
