Player A 9 handicap
Player B 12 handicap
Player C 15 handicap
Player D 27 handicap

What is the best betting/ competition to use with this group? What's the fairest pairing to play skins?

Does Player B through D get strokes based on gap from Payer A? How do you pair these people up?

Thanks!

Player's B-D should definitely be playing off A's handicap and A ending up at 0. As far as pairings for skins, it shouldn't matter all that much, assuming the handicaps are legit. But, I would probably put A with D and B with C.

Right, B gets 3 strokes, C 6 strokes, D 18 strokes, all playing off of Player A's handicap, player A would get zero strokes.

Yes A gets 0 strokes and everyone plays off his handicap

However, in my experience I would group A with C and B with D. This way, the best golfer (A) isnt playing with a guy getting a stroke per hole (D). I think A/D would have a slight advantage over B/C because of this.

To make it really fair, you need to adjust the hdcp for the slope/rating. Not sure if you're playing an easy or really tough track but it could swing the number for the higher handicap player(s) by a couple of shots.

Correct! Take the slope rating of the tees you are playing X the handicap and divide by 113, this will give the players handicap for the couse and set of tees you are playing.

Example: 9.3 handicap slope of 133
9.3 x 133=1236.9 divided by 113 = 10.94. So in this scenario a 9.3 handicap would have a course handicap of 10.94 or and 11 handicap for your game.
