In the past I have had a strict 50 degree rule for playing golf. If it's below 50 I'm not playing!! Well, this winter I'm going to drop that by 10 full degrees and play in 40 and above weather.
The question is, who makes the best, golf specific cold weather clothing?

Under Armour. Their new lines are not as compression fit, plus, they have three levels of warmth to choose from.

My limit is 3°C (37.4° F). For anything colder than about 50°C, I'll wear a cotton undershirt, a cotton turtleneck, a wool sweater and top that with my SunIce Gore-Tex rain top. Below 40°F I'll wear long johns and if it's very windy, my rain pants.
Also important : hand warmers that I keep in my pockets to warm my hands between shots and good head gear (I wear a Tilley hat).
Still looking for a way to play when 1 or 2 meters of snow cover the courses.

You might want to split the difference--45* is my cutoff point. Oh yeah, and UA with some fleece over it topped off with a windbreaker should seal the deal. Get a good hat, and some wintersoft golf gloves and you'll be good to go.

I am going to be a hero to you it looks like:
Buy an Under Armour Cold Gear Mock Turtleneck
Take a normal polyester golf shirt and wear it over that.
Finally, get a Mizuno Windlite sweater.
You will be sweating in that combination and it will feel like all you have on is that sweater.
Trust in someone that works in this industry.

I use Patagonia for just about everything. works just as well for golf as it does for the other stuff I do. Lasts for ever, too.

UA Metal Cold Gear compression, Polo RLX Golf full zip jacket. Both skin tight and barely there.

I agree on the under armour. I got the 2.0 coldgear base layer top and pants and so far they are nice. Light, not restictive, and warm.

+1 on the under armour....
Adidas also makes some pretty good clima warm stuff .....Bought a long sleeve top last year and with just a cotton T underneath its plenty warm in 45-50 degree weather.....

So far this season I've gone with a long sleeve Russell Athletic dri fit T shirt, dri fit polo, windshirt and fleece vest and been very comfortable down into the upper 30s. I'll usually bring along a fleece jacket as well but haven't needed it.
After finally trying microfiber I'm never going back to a cotton base layer no matter what the temperature is.
This reminds me that I need to buy a new winter hat and make 100% sure I have the winter gloves in the bag...

I use the Under Armour Cold Gear mock.
Add a thin zip fleece as the base layer.
I top that off with a Zero Restriction jacket.
Add to that some Gore-Tex gloves and a fleece stocking cap and you'll be fine.
Flannel lined trousers help on the low end.

Certainly sounds toasty warm, but hardly non-restrictive
compared to the UA clothing.
+200 for the UA stuff. Can't wait to try the new Hundo line.

Nike Baseball loose turtleneck. Man that thing is warm and comfy.
When it's real cold, UA under the turtleneck.

It's 91* here today with a heat index of 97. I'm glad I don't have to worry about that for a while. But, when I do, the UnderArmour stuff is good. But, look a whole lot like the Michelin man in that compression stuff.

Mountain Hardware and North Face -rock climbing apparel. If its not too restrictive for my friends that scale these big honking rock faces, I figure it won't bind me too much while I climb in/out of the golf cart and hack at the ball.

http://store.nike.com/?country=US&lang...0701/pid-232076Have any of you guys got any experience with this Nike top? I'm looking for something similar to this but i'm going to check out the Under Armour after the recommendations in this thread.
Edit: i can't really justify the £55 for the underarmour one so it's going to have to a Nike. Not sure whether to go for the one in the link i posted or the proper thermal one. I want to be warm but not the extent that it feels like a sauna.
