Hey folks,
I'm looking for new sunglasses. I do NOT wear them when i hit the ball, so it is between shots, love the amber type of lens over grey/brown/etc... I need them to fit tightly so they don't fly off when hitting a drive/chip, etc... (yesterday in a comedy of errors i pulled of a windshirt, glasses flew off, someone stepped on them, they were segengeti and didn't fit tight enough anyway).
i took all the links i could from this previous topic:
http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/index.php?sh...p;hl=sunglassesI don't want to look like frank licklighter (spelling) so i am not keen on oakley looking glasses, more of a maui jim kind of guy... Thoughts???

2.

3.
http://www.tifosioptics.com/golf/index.html <--some decent ones in there that meet my needs i think, not sure about size of them.
4.
http://www.nyxgolf.com/Ultra_Lite_Polarize...ass_p/25106.htm <---looks decent
5.
http://www.costadelmar.com/ <---not really anything amber lensed
6.
http://www.coyoteusa.com/2009info.html <--- seems to do a good job giving the dimensions of the glasses which helps us folks with small heads or large heads!
7.
http://solarbat.com/noctular.html <--sb98 in hycony looks promising...
8.
http://kaenon.com/product/30_spindle_s2.html <--- might work
9.
http://www.smithoptics.com/Passage_31_177.html?fl=flase <---look decent, gives sizes too
Thanks as always ! ! ! /peter

Not sure what to tell you. In my opinion there is nothing out there better than the Peak vision glasses.. don't quite understand the "wierded me out" comment. That type of brown is the best on the course. I also don't understand the "I do NOT wear them to hit balls..." then, "I need them to fit tightly so they don't fly off when hitting a drive/chip, et..."
Are you going to swing with them or not? I have a pair of Oakley Strait Jackets with the same kind of brown lenses the Peak Vision ones use. The only reason I don't have PV glasses is that they can't "bend" my prescription enough for any of their lenses.
Well, that's my 2c worth but again... I'm a little lost as to some of your comments.

ah sorry for the confusion!
What i meant is i don't hit the ball wearing sunglasses, i take them off, put them on my hat, hopefully they don't fall off.
The peakvision lenses color changes as you lookup/down with the graduated lens, and kind of weirded me out/aka.. i didn't like that change depending upon how you were looking. sorry for the confusion!

For golf, I wear sunglasses from NYX Golf. But, not the ones you have the link for. I wear the Classic Competition with interchangable amber lenses and they are great. The NYX Arrow is not bad either. Don't understand you having that style NYX when most of your other choices are not wires.

I have the Adidas Adivista. They come in two sizes (S or L), the arms are 3-way adjustable, and so is the nose piece. Also, the arms have a "quick release" so that if you step on them, the arms will come off without breaking. Just snap them back into place. They also have different lens options, and the lenses are interchangeable. I have the Vario lens, which photochromic and gets darker or lighter depending on the light. They also have a golf-specific lens which I may get for next year. They work great for me!

Understood...
Well, the other suggestions are good too. I love my Oakleys. You should look at their entire line, they have some great frames and they can put their "golf" lens in any of them.

+1 on the Oakley's i have 3 pairs i use and they are excellent, the ones i use mainly for golf and sports are the Ti Whiskers which weigh nothing but fit securely i used them for running the 100m and 200m as well as golf and they don't move or cause any discomfort at all, if not you could try the Golf specific M frames

you should check out the Oakley Why 8.0 gold iridium polarized. Fits the bill on all counts. Great set of glasses that I have worn for years without any issue, and can be had for really cheap on ebay. pm me for more info if you'd like. I may be convinced to let mine go for a song. Thanks, Justin

Go to your eye doctor and get fit for frames... then look at
DriveWear lenses. I have had these for almost a year now and still think they're the best sunglass lens out there.

I've got the Bolle Warrant frames with the Eaglevision II lenses. They're the best I've ever used for golf, and I never take them off during a round. Good looks, good coverage, comfortable and stable, and the Eaglevision lenses work extremely well, even on the brightest days. For the price, I don't think they can be beaten.

What does it matter? You are not using them for hitting the ball so anything will work. I don't know what kind of advise you need for glasses that fit on your hat.
You already said you like Maui Jim so why not go for them? They are top quality.
Perhaps this is what you need.

I have the PeakVision, Oakleys and Maui Jim. The liked the Peak Vision at first but there is something in the colors that get emphasized by them that cause the black shades to not be clear. I have gone back to gray oakley lenses and it keeps everything pretty neutral and natural.
I have various lenses for skiing where the proper lense makes a much bigger difference. The maui jim earpieces are not condusive to taking them off and putting over a cap, but are the best looking and have great lenses. Oh, the PeakVision have earpieces are not very sturdy so be careful with them.
