I am referring to course and weather conditions. My father and I are headed there Sat. and I know the area has gotten a bunch of rain lately. What should we expect?

Where are you playing?

I'm a newbie hacker (so take my opinion lightly) who lives near B'ham. I work out of town during the week so I usually golf out of town but I have played two courses in B'ham.

One just this past Monday. Other than a few soft spots in the fairways, the rain effects are pretty much gone. The greens may have still been a little rough from the rain but it's hard for me to say since I had never played that particular course before.

We're playing Limestone Springs, the Shoals (RTG), Cider Ridge, Timberline. I'v played Limestone (one of my all time favorites), Cider Ridge (good deal), and many of the RTG courses, but never the Shoals. Timberline was my Dad's choice.

This will be my 3rd trip to Alabama, striclty to play golf. What should we expect?

Those are all pretty good courses. I played Timberline a few times when it first opened, it was pretty good back then. You do the the Shoals is around 2 hours north of Bham? Limestone is probably the best of the group. Sounds like a good trip.

Outside of of the Austin Golf Club, Limestone Springs is my favorite course. Something about it, not sure what. It looks like it is suppose to rain on Sunday afternoon with a chance through Tuesday. Hopefully we can dodge the rain. We are staying in Birmingham, but we are playing 18 at Limestone tomorrow afternoon after we get in, 36 at the Shoals, 36 at Cider Ridge, and 18 at Timberline before we fly back to Texas Tuesday afternoon.

I just packed and ready to go. I'll post on the courses, etc. if anyone interest.
