Tuesday, I am having knee surgery #3. Having shut down for the season 2 months early, I am not in the best of moods.
To make it easier to walk 18, I was thinking of getting an electric push cart.
I am looking for guidance on pros/cons (besides looking like a tool) and things to look for if I buy one.
BTW - space is not an issue for me. My SUV would have room for my bag and a pretty good sized cart. I do, however, have to deal with courses that are hilly.

Two words: Remote control.
I have a Eagle Compac electric cart. I love it. I only use my Sun Mountain manual Speed Cart for the sloppy winter rounds.
The remote electric cart really is like having a caddy. All the fun of walking, but none of the bag lugging.
Look around on your local Craigslist as these things pop up quite a bit, and you can save substantial money in the used market. DO NOT buy the caddybug all over Ebay. I hear they're junk.
Good luck with your surgery. FWIW I had my knee rebuilt almost 30 years ago. Not only does it still work great, I can sense an approaching rainstorm 3 hours in advance!

To use a powered cart is a great way to play...I have been using one now for 4 years. I bought a cheap one to start out with and it lasted about a year. The one I use now is the Bag Boy...it is very sturdy and has plenty of Power. I have used it for 3 years and i am still on the first battery. The model I have is a non-remote control one which is what I wanted...they only make the one with all the bells and whistles these days. I'm very happy with it... I have a friend that uses a Hill Billy and it seems to do a great job as well. Drop me an email if I can answer any specific questions.... good hunting. Bob

I was lucky enough to have a micro fracture on one of my knees earlier this year so I had to get a powered trolley if I wanted to carry on golfing. I'm 39 and would otherwise have carried on carrying my bag as most of us in the UK do so you can imagine the stick that my friends gave me the first time I pulled the new trolley out of the car. Ironically two of them have since also bought powered trolleys. I looked at pretty much of all of the brands available here in the UK - Powakaddy, hillbilly, Stewart (their trolleys look great but I could never justify c£1000 on a cart even if I could keep it hidden from the missus) and came across a brand called Gokart - other than my AP2s its the best golfing purchase I've ever made - was approx £220, takes 2 mins to put together (rather click in place) and its heavy duty plastic so no chance of it rusting in our standard wet winters - they delivered within 2 days and I've been lucky enough to have had no probs with it at all so far. Plus it doesnt take up too much room in my cars boot.
