I like Zach Johnson better.
I just don't like the look of his swing, and that pause at the top

Talk about throwing back a few! I like Zach so don't get me wrong but I wouldn't say either swing is what you want to teach your kids, if they (the kids) could only make this much money with that ugly swing I think I'd be ok with it...

http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/117538yeah..i was thinking to myself this guy thinks its a temp thing...i dont care why the caddie got canned, stuff happens, but be classy and that was not. Plus his hate on for the open championship which he went too this yr but usually skips because it does not suit his game, hey bud its the home of and origin of golf, who cares if it suits you, you go. since that skipping last yr, just to get ryder points i started not liking him so much.
He obviously loves his family, he didnt kill a baby, i dont hate him, but something in the last yr or so, grated on me, not his biggest fan, even if i am told that i look a bit like him and swing like him...yikes..

I followed Kenny today at the TC, and he was as nice as he could be. Talked with the gallery, thanked them.. Joked, smiled..
The guy has a wild swing, but bombs the hell out of it. He and Jerry Kelly were one of the better and nice groupings to follow. Kelly was giving small kids balls and tee's and talking with people. They were laid back and fun to watch.
Tiger ignored everyone, cursed loud enough for everyone not on a time delay to hear, and told people to move. That and he talks to himself in 3rd person and that crap is just odd.
I'm sure that would upset some of you Tiger jock hangers, but I think acknowledging people, and atleast looking at them and not through them goes a long way. I know they were all focused on doing their best, and wanting to get moving.. But if Kenny Perry could move like he did today, and show some personality, then most of them could do that same.

I dont know why all of a sudden people just starting getting on his jock--I just dont get it. Is it all from his willingness to stand there and talk about losing Augusta?? What is it?? Can't wait for tomorrow to watch the lamest fist pumper and all time greatest fist pumper to be going at it. Here's Mr Perry, earlier in the year, providing wonderful insight into Tiger's game. Ding ding ding!!!! We have a winner.
KP is a middle age guy on the backside of his career who's somehow managed to keep up with the younger, more talented golfers on your despite a homemade swing and the lack of any big time exposure/endorsement deals matched with the 'aw shucks, just a small town boy from Kentucky' demeanor make a lot of people see themselves or more accurately who they wish they could be' in him.
He's a nice story, no doubt - but somehow extrapolating that into being an All-American guy is a bit much. Unless you are talking college sports, I don't quite understand how anyone would objectively definite 'All American'....and why Kenny is more 'All American' than Tiger, Phil, Steve Stricker, Zach Johnson, Stewart Cink or any of the other top American golfers...

That being said, I do feel that GolfWrx is the best golf forum available.
To have a little fun, I know that you can post something on this forum in a certain fashion, which will generate a large response, and bring out all the "Soapbox People". These people don't care what the theme of a forum is, rather, whatever the topic, they love to jump up on the "Soapbox".
Kenny Perry to me, is no different than any of the other Tour Pros.

I don't have the audacity to snap a video of it happening, as Tiger was only feet from me while he went into his third person tirade and started cursing himself.

I was worried he would blow up.
Point being.. I don't care about of the drama like most do. I go by what I see. Kenny Perry and Jerry Kelly were a wonderful pairing yesterday. They talked to people, acted like they saw fans and golf nuts out watching them. Harrington despite his horrible play, was upbeat and talked to people. Waved, and gave a ball to a young girl in front of me who asked him. Tiger just stares through people. I understand that Tiger has a drive to win that is rivaled by few, and he is completely focused on playing.. But take off the robot personality for a few minutes and act like a person. I'm not bashing on the man, because I'm no saint myself, but it was a little awkward to what him to ignore every person on the course, while the other remaining 29 were a little open to acknowledging people.
Kenny Perry isn't some special dude by any means.. I haven't noticed anyone hanging all over him, and he had a modest gallery at best, which was nice..

One thing most are missing here is IF you fire your caddie, thats business. If you have your son, friend, brother or father caddie that's family. KP is a great guy period. If you don't like him that fine too but it doesn't distract from him being a good person but may show your lack of judgment. I like golf and golfers, some are just more personable than others. $.02

Apologies first and a statement that I'm not a card carrying member of the KP fan club. He is a great ball striker and has done very well and for that, he deserves serious praise.
However...and you knew there was a however coming...he's done somethings throughout his career, on and off the golf course, that just make you go...hmmm. The totally class-less move of dumping his caddie, through his agent, at a time when serious payouts were due to the guy who hung with him during the good times and bad is just wrong. If he was a decent person, he would have talked to his caddie personally and straight up tell him why he was canning him. How about a bit of respect for for a brother. So how much do you think he gave his son?
As he did in the Masters this year, he went into the victory walk today after the Woods early bogey and his lead swelling to 5. He did the same thing in the PGA when he went into the tower before the event was over.
Not sure if anyone noticed but TV showed Mickelson watching Woods' putt on 17 and only after the miss did you see him have any acknowledgement of his win.

Mr All American before the final round of Tour Championship:
QUOTE
"Here I am at 49, I'm still trying to beat him," Perry said. "I have fun with it. He'd better bring his 'A' game is all I've got to say."
I guess you have to admire him for semi-trash talking Tiger. For a "regular" guy that seems a little out of character. I'm sure there was a slight roll of the eyes or sarcastic tone to remind us of his true nature. But if you missed the sarcasm or goofy looks, and actually started thinking this guy is a Bad MF'er--he was quick to remind you of his tremendous character while laying out his plans for the $11.3 Million 1st place share:
QUOTE
"I'll tell you this, it's not going to change my life if I win the $10 million," Perry said. "My life will stay the same. It'll definitely give me some opportunities to help some people. I want to start a foundation, there are some things I want to do for charities. I'll definitely be thinking of it out there, but if I win it or don't win it, it's not going to change anything
."
I find it hard to believe he didn't win with the thoughts of $10 million going through his head out there! I'm sure Phil and Tiger were using their charitable foundations for swing thoughts. KP can add Mr Mental Toughness to Mr Nice and Mr All American. Thinking about the money and telling yourself two pars and you win(Masters) are things all of our great champions do when they get in a pinch. Ok enough "soapbox". I just wish the world could see the real KP everyonce in awhile-the one that wants to win as much as Tiger, the guy that thinks about himself every now and then, the selfish version, the guy that wraps his driver around the tee marker, or the occasional under the breath F Bomb. It's in there! Has to be! There's no other way to become one of the best players in the world without some of this.

Not a fan of KP, although I did think it was harsh the way Johnny Miller predicted his Sunday meltdown. I believe that at the end of Saturday's broadcast, Johnny said that he didn't like Kenny's chances of shooting a great round on Sunday, and that Tiger probably thought a 71 would take it down. Even though he was right about Kenny, still a bit harsh and unnecessary.

Sorry. I've been around professional golf for 20+ years and have PERSONALLY seen and heard Kenny yell at volunteers, tournament workers and others just like all the other players on tour. He's a normal guy, just like the others. No better, no worse. All have warts. Some are just better at hiding it than others, just like the rest of us in life.
