I have a hard to fit foot (12xw) and I am in the market for a new pair of golf shoes. It has been a while since my last pair and I was hoping to try some of the new models from FootJoy. I went to/called 5 different golf shops within a 90 mile radius and none stock my size.

I was totally out of luck until I decided to find a website with a good return policy and order the 5 pairs that I want to try, then return all but the best feeling/looking. I placed the order a few minutes ago and hope to receive all 5 next week...

I have a question though...should I feel bad about ordering form a website when I know I am going to return most of the purchase? Do I have any other choice, being that my shoe size is so rare?

I would love to hear some opinions...

Nah, as long as you're following the policy, I wouldn't feel bad at all.

BTW- If you ordered from Zappos, you're golden- they're the best! Free shipping BOTH WAYS!!!

I once returned a pair of Ecco golf shoes (unused) a year after I got them.

Unfortunately Zappos doesn't sell FootJoy, and they offer the widest option I have found.

I am following the policy exactly to the letter and although return shipping may cost me a few bucks, but it is worth it in my opinion...

Yeah, I definitely don't see any problems with what you're doing...especially given how hard it must be for you to try on shoes before buying. I see no other choice for you to make a good purchase for youself, so I wouldn't feel bad about it at all.

I have the same problem but at least you can find shoes....I wear a 18 EE which isnt available for purchase from anyone but one golf shoe maker....lucky you have 5 options.

Size 12 at least you have options ....

New Balance made basic oxfords that were pretty comfortable (me 16 3EEE). They just discontinued that line. I was able to buy a couple pair of FJ Classics before USA production stopped. Does anyone know if the FJ ICON will be available in special sizes.

It is interesting that Nike doesn't offer extended size shoes with all of the atheletes that play golf off season. Reebok used to make extended sized golf shoes for athletes years back. They were only available via team account reps.
