Going to Memphis next week and looking for a place to play on Tuesday, can anyone suggest a good place to play that is open to the public?

Mirimichi-new Timberlake course. He bought it a couple of years ago and has redone completely. Fun and challenging.

www.mirimichi.com for tee times

Also-Links at Galloway-municipal run by a good friend. Short course in middle of city.

Best to call today for either.

I'll echo Galloway. It's a rather flat open course but in great condition.

Another one is Quail Ridge in Bartlett. It's a more hilly, tree course but also in great condition.

I've only played for a few months and been impressed with both.

Stay away from Stonebridge as it isn't in good condition. The greens are bad.

If you feel like traveling south, Southhaven(sp), MS has a couple of nice ones. The one I played is Cherokee Valley, I think.

if i am not mistaken, Cherokee Valley is the one by the hotel i always stay at in Olive Branch, behind the Hampton Inn of og 78.

it looks nice but i have never played in the 54 nights i have stayed in that hotel since last year for work.

I know you said public but if you are a member of a club have your pro try to get you on Memphis Country Club. One of the nicest places I have place and demanding.

If you don't mind traveling about 25 miles, you need to consider Tunica National Golf in Tunica, Mississippi. Although I haven't played the course, a couple of business associates can't stop talking about it. They travel up there about twice a month. I'm hoping to make it up there in the next few weeks.
