Ok, I live in the south and around here Bent Grass Greens are the best surface you can get to putt on. We do not have a lot of courses with BGG's due to the heat. But can someone explain to me why a lot of the courses in the northern states have Poa Anna mixed in with Bent Grass. Poa Anna is always talked about as making greens bumpy as the day goes on, so why do so many courses mix this grass in with the greens? The courses that have bent down here do not do this and the greens are awesome, but these are the courses with large budgets that can keep them alive in the heat and humidity we have.

They don't mix it in. It comes like a weed and is a PITA to get rid of. It can provide some good putting surfaces if it is cared for properly and is grow in enough

Full poa greens is actually a great surface to putt on and makes for nice firm greens. The problem is the rapid rate of growth throughout the day that causes them to be bumpy later in the day. They are especially good if the course can roll them everyday.
