I got the email that I was selected in the lottery to purchase tickets to the 2010 Ryder Cup. I was a Valhalla and had a great time. Never thought win the ticket lottery again. Looks like I'll be making the trip across the pond next year. Anybody else going?

Some simple facts....

1 Celtic Manor is in Wales, not England, and the Welsh are very upset if your don't recognize them as a separate nation.

2 Celtic Manor is very easy to get to. Nearest major airport will be Birmingham International (not sure if flights from USA go into Bristol), about 2 hours drive away.

3 Be prepared for a very mediocre course. Local billionaire bought the Ryder Cup, there are many better courses in Wales but logistically a nightmare.

4 Bristol is the nearest large city, followed by Cardiff. Both have excellent nightlife and stacks of accommodation.

5 If you are bringing your clubs there are plenty of places to play, both inland and links. Burnham & Berrow in Somerset, about 60 miles away is a superb links course.
