Just curious....it looks like some holes are playing shorter than the listed distance.

I did find a "hole locations" pdf on the official site...but couldn't find anything regarding where they placed the tees today....and the TV guys like to hype the distance...if you know what I mean.

On the broadcast I believe they said it was at 7,660 today with most of the tees back.

Tiger said it was playing a whole lot shorter than the distance on the card with a lot of tees up some. My guess is probably 7300 or so. They never tip out courses------the length just gives them options.
The guys are good but the game is not to the point where a course with greens rolling that fast has to be 7600 to keep scores down.
Announcers like to have a story so they only quote the lenth on the card to hype it up. They also make it seems like any ball that is not sitting up on a tee in the rough will be almost imost impossible to advance and then after the shot is played it mysteriously lands on the green with backspin----I guess they think it makes it more interesting to make everything seem difficult
