I'm interested in purchasing a new golf bag relatively soon. I have decided that based on reviews and looks/style that I want to buy the Ping Hoofer Vantage. The cheapest I can find it online is at gppgolf.com for $99.99.

I was wondering if anyone has seen this bag/can find this bag at a cheaper price online. If so, your help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I hate to be the negative one here but I own this bag and I absolutely hate it. I'm using it for now only because I haven't found a really good bag yet (the Titleist X86 is a good bag though, I may go back to that one).

Why I dislike this bag IMO: First off its too heavy. The shoulder straps are horrible, the seem to anyways get tangled whenever pick up.The retractable thing, bad idea. Also, the pockets seem to rip easily inside. I guess my whole beef about this bag really is the straps and grip tangle.

Spend a few extra and get a bag of better quality. My 2

BTW Ping bags are highly overrated!

I've got the grey and orange one. So far so good, retractable strap is nice, seems to be holding up fairly well, especially with the heat down here in South Texas.

I disagree that Ping bags are overrated.
It comes down to personal preference. Currently using a hoofer vantage, I came from a Titleist (x86 I think?) that I really didn't like.
I find everything about the Ping to be more ergonomic; it just "fits" better if that makes any sense. It's worth trying at that price.

Its funny how after I posted that I thought to myself. I actually own FOUR ping bags right now russian_roulette.gif Two Hoofers, a Craz-e lite and a staff bag I guess I was just trying find a reason to go out and buy a new bag. Totally agree on personal preference and that's why all my bags will go up for sale. rolleyes.gif

I think at that price! You shouldn't even think about another bag. I got mine for $146 and that was with a coupon. Love my Hoofer Vantage. I was worried about the straps but they don't really bother me. And if you ride more than walk like I do you can easily remove one of the straps anyway. I was consindering this bag and the Titleist lightweight or premium bags but I heard they don't fit on carts too well. Very happy with my decision.

how heavy does this bag feel when walking?

Although it is heavier than others (specifically many of the Sun Mountain bags), I don't think it feels heavy when walking. I'm 38 and in OK shape, walked 18 the other day in the sweltering heat and never once noticed the weight of the bag. Full disclosure, I dumped all but 6 of the golf balls out of my bag and cleared out the junk that tends to collect in there before teeing off but I was carrying a water bottle and filling it constantly
