I've been wearing FootJoy Contours for the last year or so. I walk 90% of my rounds and they are getting a little worn out. Specifically they've kind of lost their lateral firmness. In other words my foot can slip a little side to side. I just don't feel as locked in as I would like, especially during my backswing.

Any recomendations on shoes that hold up a little better in this department? The Synergy seems a lot stiffer in this area but I don't know how they hold up over time.

As much as you can disregard my biasis, the FootJoy SYNR-G shoe is the most stable shoe on the market. You will feel completely locked in from a fit perspective, thanks to the memory foam, and from a performance perspective due to the stability features in the outsole.

I know the Synergy has memory foam in the footbed. Does it loose stability if I have to take the insole out to replace with orthotics?
