Well I rent right now but am going to be building a bar when I buy a home and am deffinately going to be putting in a bar area. I want to make it golf themed and was wondering if anyone had any pics of their own or other peoples or if anyone had any ideas of things to put into one. Thanks

No pics yet, but I've built a bar in my basement with a golf type color scheme, and have started to purchase some cheaper memoribilia which is golf related (got a page out of an Atlanta newspaper from 1916 I think, which talks about "young bobby jones")

2 ideas: you could cover the top of the actual bar with an artificial putting green inlay (have it flush with the edges, maybe even have a cup cut into one end or something). Also, I've seen ice cube trays that make golf ball shaped cubes. Apparently, a ice "sphere" is better than a square one for drinks, as they melt slower.

Never thought about that. I might have to go looking for some newspapers from now and then that would be something to put on the wall.

I was actually thinking about making some drink stands or something like that with some artificial putting green and then use a cup as a cup holder. I have seen those ice cube trays before and might have to pick some of them up.

Thanks guys keep them coming

Probably the coolest, golf-type theme bar I have ever been to was Beer Hunter down in La Quinta. They have all these staff bags that Tour players have give them over the years. If you look at the link below, you can see a few of them on the top right, it's really cool looking in there.

Make the bar have a putting green surface and the holes at each seat for a cup holder. I dont know if you're capable of doing this, but at Caddy Shack the Murray Bros restaurant in St. Augustine, they have lawn mowers, like hand mowers, suspended from the ceiling and left them running to be like a ceiling fan. So that was pretty cool. Just get lots of memorabila, photos, themed glasses, perhaphs a golden tee game? and a big tv, always on the Golf Channel.

Loved that place when I worked down there for a winter. Man those were the good ol' days. Growing up and getting a real job sucks.

I like the ideas as having a putting green surface on the bar or table, but it's gonna be horrible when it comes to cleaning. Just my $.02.

I'm also hoping to do something like this in the future, but tie it in with a driving range.

Good luck

And if I had an extra 4 grand laying around, I'd definitely stock my bar with the "Golden Tee" video game!

Been there, done that! It's a cool bar. Aside from the bags, it's nothing to write home about though.

I have been there a bunch, never noticed the golf bags! Usually I just go there to suck down a few beers, they have a great selection.

Is it in the same parking lot as Lumpys? I don't live there and can't always remember where everything is.

Its more of a resteraunt than a bar but Arnold Palmers place which is close by is awesome!! They have tons of golf stuff plus a putting green outside with a Rolex clock!

Ya I am wanting to put in a synthetic green and then make a couple of "tee boxes" that are between 100-150 out so I can putt but also hit some shots into a green. Just a dream now but gotta get the ideas together.

It's just down/up the road from Lumpy's. It's on the corner. If you've never noticed all those golf bags then you're sucking down those beers pretty handily! LOL! AP's is a very nice restaurant BTW.
