Sorry but I found it humorous that you dig through change to find a ball marker...that's like walking past your TV looking for your remote cheesy.gif

Just be careful with those magnetic ball markers. I had a regular divot tool w/ the ball marker magnetized in it. Set it down and tapped it down with my putter (which also has a magnetic cover)...needless to say the marker stuck to the bottom of my putter and I looked for 5 minutes for my marker...until looking at the bottom of my putter. Haha sorry for the bit of a hijack just wanted to share that little story.

I solved this problem by using epoch tees or zero friction tees. I can't remember the last time that I broke one of those. I used to hate having all those tees in my pocket and had same problem of digging through everything.

Now, I have 3 things in my pocket that are easy to distinguish between (one tee, one coin, and a small divot tool)

Me too but I add one more thing...one zero friction tee, one short tee for par 3's and hybrids, and a divot tool with a magnetic ball marker on it.

I appreciate the above joke about digging through coins to find a ball marker, but I can also imagine doing that myself. Which is why I always empty my pocket of all coins before a round.

I want to use my specific, favorite ball marker each time. And as a kind of function of my putting routine, I'm afraid that if I don't easily find the marker in my pocket and grab a coin instead I'll be thinking about where the marker is instead of concentrating on my putt. I'm half sure I'm wierd about this, but the other half of me thinks it's hard enough to concentrate on putting without causing my own distractions.

I have a golf buddy who never has a coin or a ball marker in his pocket. I'm constantly amazed by that. Does he think he won't have a need for it throughout the round? He usually finds something in his bag by the 12th hole. Contrasted with me having each golf implement in its proscribed pocket, we're a very unlikely pair.

I think most (or all) of the ballmarkers made by Magnamark (I've also seen this company's products under the "Golf Design" name) have a magnet on the back. Lots of golf courses sell these, and I've seen quite a few on eBay (here's one seller(http://stores.shop.ebay.com/bobbymac88_Ball-Markers_W0QQ_fsubZ476288018QQ_sidZ14422108QQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em322) who always has A LOT of them at reasonable prices (Disclosure: I have no financial or other connection to him). Also you might want to consider a hat clip/marker combo.

I carry one of these for my round, ball marker is magnetic so when I pick it up all I have to do is put it in my pocket and I know it sticks to the tool.

www.markmender.com

Usually only carry my mark mender and one or two tees during a round.

> digging through coins to find a ball marker

Reminds me of the time I was at the pro shop paying for my round when a guy came in and asked the clerk, "Do you sell ball markers?"

Clerk: "Yes we do."

Guy: "How much are they?"

Clerk: "One dollar."

Guy handed the clerk a dollar, clerk reached into the cash register and gave the guy a penny.

That's pretty funny. (A touch expensive, but he got a ball marker with a Lincoln logo, which sometimes costs extra.)

That is exactly what I have in my pocket as well.
