The most critically important maintenance item is to install cedar shoe trees immediately following play.
The next important item is wiping the dirt off the shoes immediately following play.
Oiling the the leather soles ? Never heard of that. I imagine someone suggested it to try and prevent leather cracking ?
The leather cracking happen when shoes trees are not installed and the shoe curls. So, it will not happen if the shoes have shoe trees installed and if the shoes are not stored in extreme temperatures. Most important is the shoe trees.

Guys I know this has probably been discussed but I just picked up a pair of Dry Premiers and wore them today. They are amazing and I will be ordering more. However this is the first shoe I have had with the leather sole like this. And now the toes of the sole have wear on them. I read these have to be oiled which I guess is the stuff that has come off. Anyone suggest some good oil for these? And do you just apply it to a shoe rag and wipe it around the sole? Anyone have any pics of this process that they may do to their classics. I am too lazy to take them to my shoe place to get them to show me....
