What is with they swoosh on the left sleeve? I like them on the chest much better, but can not find them anywhere.

Nike retail golf shirts don't have the swoosh on the chest. ONLY the pro's get the NIKE emblem on the chest.

Check out the nike tennis shirts....the fabrics/fits are just as good and usually cheaper. Plus often they'll have the nike on the chest.

Nike Team gear will have the swoosh on the chest as well--I have shirts with the swoosh on the same side as the team logo and also some with the swoosh on the opposite side of the chest.

Nike moved all their standard logoing to the left sleeve a few years back to leave the left breast available for cresting of club or corporate logos. I still have some of the earlier Dri-Fit shirts (cotton pique) that have the Swoosh on the left breast.

i would like them on the chest as well, or at least on the yoke like adidas does.

although they probly do that cuz the adidas logo on the chest is UGLY

OSUBASS! can probably clear this up more than me, but I believe that they also did it to show a cleaner look for those that want to wear them to work, church, etc. Its a "cleaner" look The ones on TV are for marketing. You can get the ones on the chest you just have look really hard to get them.

You can find the SMU's (Ones with the swoosh on the chest) if you look hard enough on the 'bay. The European shirts also have the swoosh on the chest

This is not true at all....it did however have to do with the design team at Nike Golf setting a new design theme for their golf line.

there are a few of different versions of the ::NIKEGOLF shirts.

there are Tour Swoosh (about 2 inches in width for TV)

regular Swoosh (about 1 inch in width usually a promotional item or salesmen sample)

no Swoosh (general US retail version)

as stated above, the European version often have the Swoosh, but it is rarely the Tour Swoosh. Tour Swoosh is only white or black.

the European versions sometimes have alternate colors.

i cannot answer why the swoosh was removed from the chest, though. i'll see if i can find out anything.

I always see Nike Dry Fit shirts with the swooshes on the left chest at Ross and TJ Maxx. They are not the Nike Golf line but they almost look the same and made of the same fabric.
grant_the_tank
I've got 3 Nike dry fit shirts that have the swoosh on the left chest. 2 say "Nike FIT DRY" and the other is "Nike Performance".
nikegolfchad
they do the swoosh on the chest for tv. since it is one of the most recognizable logos in the world.

They do not put the swoosh on the chest on the US version shirts because they look a little more "dressy" with the front plain. So guys can wear them under a blazer while @ work and then just take the blazer off to go to the course.
DBake
I prefer the logo on the left sleeve and nothing on the chest. Only buy shirts that are bare chested.

You're going to with "not true at all"? I think what he's saying, while it may not be the entire reason, makes sense from a production and inventory standpoint. Most clubs do put their logo on the left breast, they could move the swoosh to the sleeve and not have to keep any (or as many) un-logoed shirts around as inventory waiting to be embroidered.

Next time your watching a nike sponsor golfer ie woods or kim looks how CLEAN they look....they are not a walking billboard like half the guys on tour...this is the looks nike is going for and obviously they have to pay more.
maskedman
I prefer the swoosh on the left sleeve. It's a cleaner look and not such an overt advertisement. Also, some chest logos are not applied carefully and they create pulls in fabric - which a lot of nicer shirts seem susceptible to.
