So I bought two new shafts from the Aldila ebay store, a Pink NV 80gram stiff and a pink NV 55 gram x flex.

One for my driver, one for my 3 wood. Now Im torn on which club to put each shaft in.

I was originally thinking that I'd like a lighter but firmer shaft in my driver and Id put a heavier shaft in my 3W, and just tip the stiff shaft to play firmer as Ive hit an x flex in my buddies 3wood(aldila proto, the blue one) and I loved it!

Anyone have any input on the situation. I kind of bough them on a whim because the price was so good I couldnt pass hahaha, and if they dont work then no giant loss. My 3 wood is definately too whippy for me, its the stock graphite design ys6.

The cobra shaft is the stock x speed, an aldila NV stiff for cobra , 60 gram. High kick. I dont know if I need to replace it or not, just going for it hahaha.

I guess Im just looking for anyone whos played either shafts, and any advice to put into what club? Would I be better off putting the x in my 3 wood or tipping the stiff in my 3 wood? Or visa versa?

55 grams would be way too light for a fairway wood. Put the 55 gram NV in the driver and tip the 80 gram an inch to an inch and a half and butt trim it the rest and put that in your 3 wood, it should play to about an x.
