pretty awesome.

There were 4 hole in ones on that hole over the weekend, all came with a brand new BMW....BMW finally pulled the contest after the 4th car was won...I guess their insurance agency didn't like the pin placement either!
CosmosMpower
Does the guy whose ball was hit get penalized for not marking when they were all clearly still on the tee box? Does his ball get replaced to where it was prior to the hit?

I believe that! the pin had a nice hill right behind it to feed right back into the cup!

No penalties involved. The guy who hit first would just move his ball back to where it was before the other ball hit it.

Better to be lucky then good. rolleyes.gif Cool video, and nice looking car.
I thought normally it's the first one to ace the hole? This contest
was all aces? cheesy.gif oops. drinks.gif
orioner00

Ping Blackout Grip
I have had that happen before except my ball did not go in, it may have ran 10 feet by or so as opposed to only being 18 inches.

If I was him, I wouldn't. Anyone else notice that his playing partners didn't even turn around let alone give him a high five?

As a somewhat off topic question, is there a penalty for not marking our ball if it is in someone's line and they ask you to mark it.
GolfLover23
Well I think if they hit it u get a two stroke penalty. I BELIEVE.

Quite awesome, but I like Vijay's skip across the pond at Augusta this year more....
raidernut1234
$ 46k car. Candian tax- 50%. he owes a net $6k for the year. poor guy.
jeffc
it depends. We don't get taxed on winfalls up here. For instance if I win $1M in a lottery, I get $1M not $1M - taxes. So if it is counted as a winfall then there is likely no tax.

No love for Andrew Mcgee's desgined play off the putter on 17 @ TPC Scottsdale? VJ's is still the sickist though having played that shot.
Preduck
I think the guys were already about 30 yards down the fairway. If you ever watch the pros play, most of the time they start walking a split second the last guy hits their ball.

holy jeebus vijay takes the cake w/ that one. can't believe i missed it. i mean, the only cool thing was that guy got it in competition. but i would rather take vijay's still. wowzers.
larrybud
I think Fuzzy's ace was more amazing, but this is pretty cool!

nevets88
That is not an ace.

It's not an ace unless he calls the bank. biggrin.gif

I AGREE! That was by far the most amazing shot I've ever seen. We're you there? I was and the crowd was like a football game or something. Did Vijay's make television?
mac94
Was Vijay's in the par 3 contest or a practice round? Otherwise why would he actually try that in competition?
buckshift
I saw this on tv and was floored!

@larrybud I agree. Fuzzy was insane. no competition
Liquid
I don't know, McGee's was on a par 4 off of a player's putter. Pretty tough to beat.

From my understanding, if you do not mark/move your mark even though your opponant requests you to, you are DQed.
Same thing if you leave a ball because you know it'll help a competitor.

QUOTE
Rule 22-1. Ball Assisting Play
In stroke play, if the Committee determines that competitors have agreed not to lift a ball that might assist any competitor,
they are disqualified.

To further if you do not mark your ball on the putting green, and your opponant has not asked you to (and he is on the green)...if your opponant hits your ball with his ball, it's a 2 stroke penalty to your opponant.
I believe this the the reason for the DQ if you do not mark your ball/move your marker if your opponant askes you to.
