My wife gave me one of those puzzle thingies. You know, you are supposed to get the ball onto the tee inside the water-filled globe. I guess she thought it would be fun.

I can't put the stupid thing down and I can't get the stupid ball on the stupid tee. Arrrrggghhhh.

I am not even sure it is possible. Does anybody do it consistently? What is the trick?

Help me please before I hurt myself.
scotchblade
Just be patient, it is possible! I would work the ball onto the edge of the tee and oh so very S-L-O-W-L-Y try to tip it into place. Too much tip and too fast will send it over. You need to tip it really really slow. Good luck!

I got one as a gift, and my wife can pick it up and get the ball on the tee in about 1 minute every time. I try it, and I am ready to throw that f*cking thing out the window, it is frustrating....

No sh!t!

I would literally sit at target while my wife was perusing for deals trying to figure that damn thing out!

Note: Never got it on the tee russian_roulette.gif

Do you really want to know the secret in doing it?.........put it in the freezer for a few minutes, the water will start to freeze thus slowing the motion of the golf ball. Its not quite possible otherwise, the puzzle is meant to keep you hooked, it doesnt work!

Aaaaaahhhhh-yiiiiiiiiiii.

I did it!!!!!! Now, don't nobody even breathe on that stupid thang.

Shoot, maybe now I can get in some actual golf before sunset.

the easiest way is to toss the globe into the air while spinning it, let centrifugal force work its magic

^^^Super jealous!

key is you want the water to be still. So the best chance to get it on is in one of your first few tries. If you just stand there flicking the thing back and forth it is really difficult. I think the best way to get it on is to put it on a sturdy table, lift it just a little, give it a flick and put it down. Don't try and finagle the ball on the tee as it is teetering at the edge.

i went crazy trying to get the lame ball on the tee @ a department store

Great, now if someone would just post a solution to that puzzle with the 15 tees arranged in a triangle (where you remove them one at a time by jumping them a la checkers) then we'll have covered the bases.

I was sitiing in a Cracker Barrel restaurant one night when the manager came to the table next to us and showed a liuttle boy how to do it.

I actually had the waitress ask him to come back to my table and explain it to us, as we did not hear the entire process.

It is a baseball analogy / solution, and it works every time.

Unfortunately, too difficult to explain here, but suffice to say if I told you....I'd have to kill you. Very secret stuff!

As for the ball on the tee thing, I have one and can generally get it within four or five tries.

I had a guy who worked for me in Tampa, FL, who had one on his desk, and could never get the ball on the tee. Every visit, when I had time alone in his office, I'd get the ball on the tee and not tell him. It drove him crazy to walk in, sit down, and see the damn ball on the tee again. This was a good thing, because he was a real piece of work, and I never showed him how to do it.

I do that all the time. Those things are fun. Once you mess with them for a while, it only takes a couple minutes to do it. Its all about the wrist flip.

I have one on my desk and can get it in 3-4 tries. Here's the secret....

Instead of bouncing it against the bottom and hoping to land on the tee, use gravity.

Hold the globe and raise it straight up in the air a foot or so and stop it quickly. The ball will float up and land on the tee very softly. Think going over a hill on a roller coaster.

+1

quick wrist flip is all you need. once you get the hang of it you can get it in a few seconds.
InTheHole
One of my favorite toys. Yeah, the wrist flip is where it's at. You just can't be overzealous about it.

We have a rule in my house- whoever knocks the ball off the tee has to get it back on... or else!
dirtyboy
Keep the damn thing out of the sun!! Mine melted part of a remote control and had some paper starting to smoke! It was in the house and I have double pane windows also.
afbrad1113
Saw one of those at Disneyworld a few months ago...I spent more time trying to figure it out than standing in line for splash mountain!
dirtyboy
I have the best luck by holding it at about a 45° angle, top towards me, giving a little flick towards the tee and then a harder flick when it rebounds.

My wife bought me one of those several years back. I probably spent 4 hours a day trying to get it on, for a few days. I finally did it, and was excited. I took a pic of it, but cant seem to find the pic. the next day, my wife bumped the coffee table and knocked it off. I was friggin pissed! I'm not sure where it is now, though I would like to find it again.
slim16er
My buddy gets this within 5 mins every time. So now when I go over to his house I always knock it off just to be an a**.
