I'll be at Lake of the Ozarks, MO all next week. Where should I play? I don't need anything extravagant, just a nice track in decent shape. Any opinions or advice?

Deer Chase is a superb course very cool hills and tee locations. I have played Tan-Tar-A was not all that impressed it might be better if you play from the back tees. Am going to try to get and play any of the Lodge of Four Seasons courses. I hear great things about Osage National and Old Kinderhook.

You have to play Old Kinderhook and Osage National (River and Mountain 9's). Those are by far the two best courses there. The Lodge of Four Seasons courses aren't too bad, but are a bit overpriced in my opinion for what you get. Lake Valley isn't too bad either and is fairly affordable.

Old Kinderhook is a must. Trent Jones course at Lodge of Four Seasons is a nice track, not sure if you have to be staying there though. Nicklaus course - Porta Cima is very nice, but private...you may try calling and see if they're letting any guests on. I'm guessing in this economy, it's tough to turn down business.

I second both, Old Kinderhook and Porta Cima.

Thanks for the advice. I was told Old Kinderhook was good before. But all these other options are nice to know. At least I'll know what to load up on my skycaddie before leaving........

Played Old Kinderhook the first week of June and it was in awsome condition. It was my first time there and I was very impressed. The layout is not really exciting but it is nice and challenging from the back tees. You should like it, I did. And for those that are looking for a bargain on a vacation home, there was at least one or two on every hole for sale!
I've not played Porta Cima but have heard lots of good things from freinds that have.

Ask "the krulatz" about Old KinderHook, he's played it a time or two. BR-61 knows that area also.
