How do you prevent/reduce your "stuff" from sweating so much? Is there a secret as to how the PGA pros do it? Must be rough in the summer with pants...

Powder wasn't your thing?

Compression shorts - I like Under Armour

Some people may find them too constricting/uncomfortable, but having grown up playing football/basketball/baseball I guess they just never bothered me. Doesn't necessarily prevent sweat, but it handles it more effectively, and you avoid annoying bunched up boxers/briefs and chafing.

It's at least worth a try. Definitely works for me.

I've got just 2 words for you: GOLD BOND!

I always "Bond Up" when I know it's going to be hot. I even carry some in the bag to reapply as needed.

I tried using one of those once, but it was quite painful! black eye.gif

+1 for the Under Armour HeatGear Compression Boxers.

Combine that with Body Glide anti-chafe and you are in business all day.

Give me a set of compression shorts and some of that white gold(bond), and I am in business. I've been doing that three seasons a year in the middle of NC for close to 13 years, and don't plan on stopping any time soon.
elementlax
i wear my lacrosse compression shorts and some good old gold bond.

+1 for the Body Glide- found in running stores. Expensive, but prevents swamp-a$$ and other hot weather nastiness.

Looking forward to the UA shorts- also expensive, but probably worth it if they work anything like their other clothing.
jcshil
A little Gold Bond before the UA BoxerJock - no problems.
Smooth spin scott
Baby powder...also reco Gold Bond for that tingly feeling!
JakeBarnes
Baby powder and compression shorts.

I don't play a round of golf in anything other than pants and that seems to work.

Another suggestion that got me through many 36 holes days in college. Spray deoderant, apply to the areas and you wont have a problem. I would guess cheaper than the running stuff. A little chilly when applied but neverhad a problem with red a** after applying.

I'm a huge fan of Body Glide and use it all the time in the groin region. That being said, I hate to ask this but how do you apply it to prevent swamp-a$$? I may regret asking that....

+1 for UA or UA boxers.. I have even used the UA skin tight shirts but it can get kinda hot and looks pretty weird when I have long sleeves on playing in 95+ degree temperatures.
Maybe I should invest in the UA short sleeves or cut offs, that way the shirt doesnt get all wet and sticks to my back and shoulders.

im new to gold bond, whats tha used for?

Do you guys wear the UA stuff just with pants, or are you using it with shorts too? What about "powdering up" do you have a temperature threshold that you do this with, or is it for every round?

Hell I do it always whether it is golf or not. Anytime I am going to be walking a lot or doing something physical.
TwoFours
I do it with shorts as well as pants. You would also save money by going to Marshalls, TJ Max type stores and check the boxers section. Pretty much all compression shorts are similar, I was able to pick up nike, body glove and champion compression shorts for about $10 each. better than spennding $25 - $35 on Nike or UA in a sporting goods store.
mul1gan
the compression shorts seems to be thicker and tighter then the boxer shorts even though they're both by UA. I tried the "long" boxer briefs but I like the tight compression shorts more.

I second the body glide with compression shorts. The BodyGlide was orginally made for runners and bicycleists, its fantastic. I am a golf professional from Houston, TX and it is hot as balls here in the summer and you need the protection, haha. Wouldnt go a day in the heat without the combo of the two.

I heard BenGay or IcyHot works best! Lemme know how it works. biggrin.gif
