Where to play in knoxville, TN? I have played Willow Creek and Fox Den. I am looking for a nice courese with some distance 6900-7100+ with good greens.

I put this list together for a GolfWRX'er visiting Gatlinburg, TN next week. Might want to consider these tracks:

- Three Ridges, North Knoxville (my home course which is 2 miles from the house, it's a public course but has challenging holes. Nationwide Tour used to play at that course in the late 90's. Bunkers are the weakest part of the course. Tips play around 7,000 yards from the tips. Course ratings from the tips are 74.0/131.)

- Rarity Pointe, Lenior City, TN (About 45 minutes from Knoxville. Probably my favorite golf course. Fairly new course and has some LONG par 4's. Has a lot of terrain to the course and it is NOT recommended to walk. This would be my top 5 courses to play if you were in the Knoxville area. Tips play 7,450. Course ratings from tips are 76.1/136. This is all the course you want!)

- Willow Creek, West Knoxville (Former Nationwide Tour course. Nice layout.)

- Patriot Hills, Dandridge (Nice layout. Has some interesting holes but was in pretty decent shape when I played it in the spring.)

- Rarity Bay, Vonore, TN (This is way down south of Knoxville but is a very nice course. Similar to Rarity Pointe and owned by the same group. Can't go wrong with the Rarity community courses.)

- Centennial, Oak Ridge, TN (Tight golf course but very manageable. I would recommend this course.)

- Avalon, Lenior City, TN (Nice layout and is a drive from Gatlinburg.)

- Graysburg Hills, Chuckey, TN (Have only played this course once in a 2-man golf tournament but I liked the layout and would probably play it again. Clubhouse is not very nice but the course was fun.)

- Millstone, Morristown, TN (Not the longest course in the world. Everyone jokes that it's the "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" course. There is a train that runs adjacent to the course. It's probably not the nicest course compared to the others on this list but it's a good track.)

Ruggles Ferry in Strawberry Plains is 7081 yards and the greens are usually in great shape. The course is a handful from the tips. If you can get on Holston Hills then by all means do not pass up that chance. I also enjoyed Links At Kahite in Vonore. I think it was a bit over 7100 yards.

I played Graysburg Hills last week and it was in really good shape.

Ruggles Ferry was in good shape a couple weeks ago.

River Island in Kodak, TN is a fun layout if the holes by the river aren't too wet. I think it's right at 7000 from the back tees.

There's Bears Trace, Stonehenge, Druid Hills and a few more west of Knoxville in Crossville, TN.

Rarity Pointe, Rarity Bay and Holston Hills are all great as others have said.

Rarity Bay in Vonore is fantastic, River Islands is an at least once a week place for me, centennial in oak ridge has some brutally tough greens, holston hills is awesome. And to throw in a wild card... The wee course! It's an 18 hole par 3 track close to downtown. The drive to it is a little sketchy ( not the best part of town) but the greens are awesome, especially considering all the shots they get. At times they are the fastest in east Tennessee.

Holston Hills if you can get on for sure. One of my favorite courses. It's a Donald Ross design and always ranked pretty high in the Classic Courses category.
