Hello All,
I am heading down to Sunset Beach, NC for a week starting on July 11th. I have only really played one course down there at Seatrail I think it was the Maples course. This year I want to get a bunch of golfing in and I wanted to visit Seatrail again but maybe this time the Jones course and I was also thinking of Thistle , can anyone recommend what is best at Thistle? Does anyone have any recommendations in that area besides the two courses I mentioned?
Thanks!
Eddie

River's Edge and Carolina National are both nice.

You should definitely play Thistle and Oyster Bay....two great tracks. Go up to Shallotte and check out River's Edge as well. Great rates right now to drum up business. Thistle is always the course in the best shape down there.

Just got back from the sunset beach area. I love playing the Thistle whenever I'm down there. Great course and great service for a really reasonable price. I highly recommend it. Beautiful new clubhouse as well.
I also played the Pearl which I usually enjoy. It was in pretty rough shape this time. Hopefully it will bounce back because it is a nice track.

I like Panther Run and Tiger's Eye, too. Thistle is reputed to be very nice. In the past Crow Creek had very nice greens. Options are many and most better than SeaTrail IMO. Avoid Pearl. Not what it used to be I am told.
Bet you can call around when there and find some good deals.

As an FYI, I will be down at Sunset in two weeks for two weeks of vacation and have already called Oyster Bay and secured a rate of $50/player for Sunday teeing off in the morning. Their normal rate was $70. Deals can be had. As a side note, this was for 12 players worth of tee times.
