So I came across this little gem of a shot in one of my rounds today. A perfect reason why us desert rats could use a 15th club.<------(I am kidding I am perfectly fine with 14 and dont mind hitting from the junk). Actually hit a good drive my aim was way off, but the ball went dead straight to my body aliagnment and then it took a nasty hop dead left. Then it managed to perch itself ever so nicely for me a rock formation. Managed to advance it from here with a little chip hybrid. Anyways enjoy a good laugh at my expense I know I did.
Oh ya Bluefan when you read this I still managed to hit 22/28 fairways today, but man do I know how to miss LOL.

A friend in Henderson carries the usual 15th club - or Nevada wedge as he calls it - precisely for situations such as that one. Well, perhaps not as extreme as that one, but you know what I mean. Obviously, in competition he drops a club to accomodate it (or risks playing without it) but in casual rounds he invariably plays with 15 clubs so that he doesn't ding his Pings as he puts it - and a local rule is in effect to allow for its use from the desert only without penalty.
I got a lovely chonk mark in the heel of my pitching wedge the last time I visited Cactusville on a trip to see him and after I declined his kind offer to borrow his wedge. What a mistaka to maka...

For only playing 4 courses in AZ, I'm pretty proud of myself right now. I couldn't believe how great of shape it was in when I played last July.

hahaha I should have had medicapitain take a picture of me trying to hit it, that would have been great. I was pretty much sitting on the higher rock with my left knee practically in my chin.

Dayumit.....that even flashed into my head watching you hit that...
Only 22 of 28 Fairways?......it seemed more like 27
What a GREAT flippin day.....Nice little cloud cover kept it under a 100 today....and it is a VERY tough decision of what is playing best between WeKoPa and Troon right now....today was simply ridiculously good....but I swear they have the smallest freakin holes in the valley...I burned more edges than a welder today.
And thanks to Nate and Brian for a great round!!!!....I must say....it didnt suck to finally win some skins..too bad you guys didnt have a chance to get some redemption...(I think I bogeyed two or three holes in a row right after you left)....the back nine of Pinnacle is the best 9 holes in Arizona IMO

ha.... I have actually learned to hit the semi bladed 6 iron from the rocks to save the abuse on the clubs.

I play about 10-12 rounds a year in Las Vegas.
For those rounds/trips, I always replace my 7 iron with an old, but functional, Golfsmith 7 iron.
The desert floor is not a friendly place to hit from. I learned that the hard way by trashing a Vokey.
