Some of my boys set up a golf trip to Mesquite for early August. I've got 15 of my boys all heading up and ready for some good golfing!
We are playing on Friday Casablanca
Saturday we have Falcon Ridge
Sunday to cap off the trip we will be teeing it up Wolf Creek
* Has anyone been out there lately and know how the courses are playing right.
I've never played Casa Blanca but heard it was a ok course.

Played them all last week. Casablanca was my least favorite, but mainly due to layout. It's very similar to a Texas course which is what I play most of the time. Wolf Creek and Falcon Ridge were both in fantastic condition.
Oasis Palmer and Canyons were both in great shape and a lot of fun.
If you have more time and feel like getting in 36 a day, it's worth the short drive to St. George Utah to check out Coral Canyon and Sand Hollow.
Also, the back 9 over at the Palms is worth checking out for an early evening round.

I question the wisdom of a Michael Jackson joke when you are taking a trip with 15 boys.

I've been there before in the heat so I know what to expect. Last time up there we played the Oasis course (Palmer) and the Big Break was actually being filmed on the first hole so we started off on the second hole instead. So we thought a different course would be better and just picked Casablanca to fill a spot.
And Stage1350 your right i'll edit it.

I am glad to hear that Wolf Creek is in great condition. I am going to play it on July 13th on a Vegas trip to UFC 100.

My golf group of 20 went to Mesquite 8 years in a row and always stayed at CasaBlanca so we HAD to play there once to get great room rates. It is by far my least favorite of the courses in Mesquite but not bad. Wolf Creek is awsome and one of my top 5 favorites of all time, but very pricey! Falcon Ridge was OK but I thought it was a bit tricked up compared to the others. Oasis is nice and they now have 36 holes. St. George is worth the 45 min. drive if you have time. Entrada, Coral Canyon, Sun Valley, blah, blah, blah. There's lots to choose from there.
Our leader decided to switch to San Antonio, TX this year and I was pretty disapointed and would like to go back to Mesquite. Can't find a better selection of courses for the $$ in my book. Now going in August may not be the smartest move, but they do sell a lot of t-shirts that say "But it's a low humidity heat". It was always around 80-85 degrees when we went the first week of March so I would guess that you'll see 100+ easy.
I'm jealous as I just got the e-mail saying we are going to San Antonio again next year, but will be playing better courses this time so we will see.
Oh, and make sure you bring a camera to Wolf Creek. Spactacular views from a bunch of tee boxes! And while you are standing on #2 tee box, try to picture how they got a guy having a heart attack down and to the hospital. (Hint) It involved a helicopter! And the big rock to your left at the top of the steps is fake. There's a lawn mower in there for a reason.
Have fun!

Make sure to check out the 80 year old cocktail waitress at the Casablanca! She wears the same outfit as all the other girls, and I almost barfed in my buddies beer. Wolf Creek is awesome, but make sure you pick the right tees. Sometimes the wind can really blow, and make it really long.

My first trip to Mesquite was about 6 years ago before I even considered myself a golfer and that probly what convinced me to switch from playing tournament softball to golf.
This same group of guys maybe about 2 years ago decided that we should start doing these
golf road trips once a year and this is our second time to Mesquite.
The stay and play package that we booked this year was a bargain considering three nights and three rounds of golf for under $300 with Wolf Creek, Falcon Ridge and Casablanca.
Camera is in the bag, last time I had to buy a deposable but the pictures came out crappy I think due to the heat. So this year im packing my digital camera and my lap top and will surely post tons of pictures. I make sure to take pictures of the 80 year old cocktail girl also.

Yeah, I'd rather drive to St. George than play casablanca. Although I thought casablanca was a nice course, it's a nice change compared Falcon Ridge and Wolf Creek. Coral Canyon is a very similar type of layout, but in much better shape.

I forgot about that waitress! She should really consider a little bigger size uniform too. She has been there for a very long time and it shows.
$300 for three nights and three rounds is a hell of a deal considering that Wolf Creek normally goes for over $200 by itself in March. We work a deal on five days of golf and have dinner at Wolf Creek two nights. The chef there is awsome and has been trying to get his own place started. If you happen to see him, tell him that the guys from St. Louis say hello and miss his cooking and unbelievable service!

Mesquite is a fun place . I went there with my buddies in april . Played the palms, oasis and Wolf Creek.
Wolf creek is a great course . I wonder what would the pro's shoot on that course .
It is very scenic and an amazing course . Back nine at palms is great . I hate steep uphill holes.
Will play Casablanca next year .
