I am going to disney world this year and we are playing golf atleast once. I was wondering which courses you guys recommend. We are interested in the Magnolia and Palm courses.

Thanks
Michael

Magnolia is better

+1 on Magnolia.

I also liked Osprey.

However, none really impressed me.

In that area, I find Bay Hill is the deal of the county. Not sure if you can play without staying there, though.

Also love Grand Cypress courses.....they have 45 holes.

However, you asked about Disney courses and I hope the original lines helped.

++2 for the Magnolia. Play the same course the PGA plays each year. And if you're staying on property you get free transport to and from the course. Best rates are after 2-3PM.

Enjoy and get your picture taken next to the sand trap shaped like Mickey's head... partytime2.gif

I played Magnolia and Eagle Pines back in the day....I was a total hack at the time but both courses were well taken care of. This was 2004 and I had just gotten into the game in 2002 and I spent 2003 in Iraq. So, like I said I was a hack. I remember the courses being beautiful and well manicured though. And I got to see EVERY INCH OF THE COURSE if you know what I mean...How bout 100+ strokes on each! I was playing military golf then....left, right, left, right, ahh, let's switch step and go right again!

I have played Magnolia and Osprey. I played Magnolia in 2007, well kept and well taken care of. Nice clubhouse as well. Layout isn't all that spectacular, I only really remember the mickey hole and the 9th and 18th holes. I would recommend playing it though, especially if you plan on watching the PGA tour season close there.

Osprey is a much much better layout. Cut through dense Florida forest, all sorts of wildlife on this one. Kept in the same condition as Magnolia. I remember many more holes from Osprey than Magnolia.

Play both if you can. From what I've heard the Palm course is too artificial, even for Disney. Randomly placed palm trees all over the course.

I've played Magnolia, Osprey and Lake BV. Out of those, Osprey is by far and away my favorite course. Will play there again. I would not really consider playing Magnolia again, just seemed like a ho-hum course, that wasn't too memorable, save for the mickey bunker on the par 3.

I've also play OCN, and although it cost me about $30 cab fare, I would definitely play there again before playing Magnolia/Palm. Drive time was only about 20min or so from DW. Should look into that course if willing to go off of DW property.

Osprey is a much better layout and course compared to Magnolia or Palm, imo.

Skip the Disney courses and play elsewhere. Disney is overpriced and undewhelming compared to other golf in the area.

Magnolia and Falcon's Fire.

I played Lake Buena Vista in 2001, and I have to believe the above post is correct.

Exactly what I was thinking. My girlfriend and I played Magnolia over spring break and enjoyed it, but I didn't care for Osprey very much; she loved it though. We also stayed two nights at resort at Bay Hill, and the course there is absolutely amazing, especially for the price.

If you have to stick to Disney,I think Magnolia is the place to play. If you can play anywhere in the area as well, Bay Hill is definitely the best bang for your buck.

osprey, for sure. Falcon's Fire is ok... The best is Orange County National

My favorite is Lake Buena Vista. I'm not sure why, then I'd say Osprey, and third would be Magnolia. None of them are anything special, they are usually in fairly good condition and can get pricy.

Enjoy Disney World, I've been about 7 times and my parents go twice a year. Feel like a kid again...

Falcons Fire has lost most of the front 9 greens and will be soon closing until Oct. to redo all the greens. Stick to Osprey, OCN, Legends at Orange Lake and maybe Southern Dunes.

If your going soon do not play osprey.... it was in absolutely terrible condition when i went out there last week. Didn't enjoy the layout too much. But the greens were terrible, they had new sod patches on different areas in the green. Looked like they had a huge army worm infestation or something. I'd say if your going to play a disney course play the Mag.

I like to play both the Palm and Magnolia when I go there, but prefer the Magnolia

as mentioned, orange county national is nice! bout 20-25 min from disney
