OSU-- Thanks for the pics! Where did you get the info from on the shirts?
Also, do you know if this is legit?

yes.
the attire for the major tournaments is chosen 9-12 months in advance.
when i went to the PGA Championship in 2007, i had purchased all of the shirts he was going to wear. i didn't actually wear them to the tournament, though, with the exception of Sunday.

yes, that is legit. i have 2 of the shirts from the set. i have the Friday (white mock neck), and Sunday (carmine red diagonal stripe).
they have tour sized Nike Swooshes on them which are about 2 inches. there is another version of these shirts that have the regular 1 inch Swoosh. there are also the regular retail versions that have no Swoosh.

Thanks, and WOW! The coordination of all things Tiger is really astounding. He always looks terrific, so this should have come as no surprise to me. I bet he didn't do anyone any favors by struggling with his rain shirt on Thursday. Probably killed those sales!

I think they had those rain suits on sale at the Merchandise tent. Probably boosted sales with the rain being that present Thursday.

Other than ebay... where can one get this set?
osubass1
Jun 23 2009, 06:38 PM
honestly, i'm not sure where it can be purchased.
a good friend of mine works for Nike Basketball. he knows i'm a Tiger fan, so he told me about the set, and wanted to split it with me.
he just sent me the shirts. i asked for the collector case, which i should receive this week.

Do you collect the shirts as an investment? Can the shirts increase in value, or is it just a hobby of yours? Until now I didn't know you could collect all of a major shirt pack.

Well being that this is a Nike product, and Nike does this type of thing with Jordans... its really not a far cry
But thanks for taking it too far.... I happen to like the way his clothes look and fit, and thought the concept of a US Open package was cool.

I have a few of the TW range of shirts because I like the easy care.
But I have no idea how TW stays comfortable in hot and humid weather because "Dri" they certainly are not in my experience.
PS. I'm referring to the synthetic stuff. The cotton stuff is very nice.

dude i get that and at one point of my life i used to wear all of the air jordan sneakers in the early 90's and i have since grown up...i understand all of the limited editions, collaborations, packs, etc...but i have no idea why you are getting your panties twisted because i find something like collecting TW shirts and putting them in display cases hilarious. i think people that do this with jordans are hilarious too, wear them like they were meant to be worn and be happy but hey who am i to tell what to make someone happy if collecting TW shirts floats your boat go right ahead

Bklynbenz....where to start with you
1- You read the post...so something caught your attention about what Tiger was wearing in the British Open. What was that?
2- Please tell me where the topic of collecting TW shirts came up, other than you creating a scenario in your head. If by collecting TW clothes you mean wearing them. Then were all guilty of collecting clothes from our favorite designers.
3- Please explain the reasons behind your user name? You find people who collect Jordans hilarious, yet do you own a Benz? Any if so why? Jordan and TW are a luxary line of Nike as much as a Benz is a luxary line of cars. Except that once you drive the car off the lot, the value of your investment tumbles. I don't collect cars, Jordans or TW shirts. I buy TW shirts to wear when playing golf and I like the style he and other tour players have, thats all that this post was meant to discuss. Why the shallow comments that pursued?

1. why did i open this thread? is that what you are asking me? do you really care? btw the british open is in july my gerber, he didnt wear the shirts yet
2. where did the topic of collecting come up? check post #12
3. reason behind my username? its the same user name ive used on all message boards since 2002 starting on the mercedes benz forums and yes i own a benz, what does that have to do with anything?
dude your grasping at straws and you look like an idiot. i didnt quote any of your posts when i made my first comment about the display cases, you obviously took it to the heart and got all butt hurt over it, take it easy killa its not that serious
and if you knew anything about cars you would know that you do not buy them as an investment, thats common knowledge my genius

i'll ask again, people spendiong silly money on shirts he will wear at the open, what if he misses the cut ? You'ld feel like a right bell end if you spent big bucks on a replica shirt he was supposed to be wearing on the sunday then he goes and misses cut.
And while we're on the subject (ANd I'm a huge tiger fan) I think he will miss the cut at the open. I stil ldont htink he's playing well enough to win the open or even get close. He didnt look right at the weekend. I know he won but wit the exception of the guy who shot 62 final round nobody challeneged him on the final day really. He didnt win it the others lost it.

I cant stand jordans but I do wear mostly TW shirts for golfing. I dont know why everyone is freaking out, the shirts are reg price. It's not like Nike is selling them for $1,000 or something. They cost around the same as nice cutter bucks and LESS than Bobby Jones and Ben Hogans.
Unless I find a great deal, I just wait a few months and snag one for sub-$40 on ebay. I just wear em, I dont put em in a case. lol If I had an autographed one, that would be a diff story....
