Hey Guys, This was the most logical place to post this question...... I am thinkging about entering a local(Idaho) Amateur Tourney, as I was reading over the qualifications I read this and am not sure what it means......Entries are open to amateur male golfers with permanent USGA handicaps.. what do they mean by permanent? I currently do a have a valid handicap as I play mens league and its tracked through GHIN, does this mean that I have a permanent handicap? If not what do I need to do?

One more quick question.... Do players usually take a caddie? Its allowed in this tourney, but just wondering how many people actually do?

As always thanks in advance to everyone who helps.... this site is awesome.... because of the members!

If you have a GHIN handicap through your club then you are fine. They are making a distinction from a temporary handicap that you get when you post your first few scores (5 I think).

I would take a caddie. Probably a third of the people will. Go with one of your buddies and you will have a blast.
