I am thinking about getting a new bag and I was just wanting to see if anyone here has had experience with these bags. What are your likes and dislikes about the bag? Right now I have a Ping hoofer. How much better are the Sun Mountain compared to Ping hoofer?

They're so good I have 2 all black and titanium and black.
It's the best carry bag I have ever owned. Love the individual dividers, good amount of storage, and best leg system out IMO.

Now that's an endorsement if I've ever heard one. Short and sweet.
I'll check out Four 5 myself!

Anyone else. Do they have all black. I saw one with red piping and I don't really want red on it. How is the black and titanium does it get as dirty as a white bag would?

I have the all black, with the red piping and no they don't make it in all black. I like the red. Makes a nice subtle little touch. Best bag I have ever owned. Some people whine about it being a pain to put on a cart, but I just don't see the problem. I just throw it in sideways and am good to go.

I have the four 5 in black. I'm coming off of the Hoofer aswell. Compared to the hoofer it is a much better bag for me since I don't have to struggle with putting clubs in and out. Also, I find it is balanced better and seems lighter when fully loaded.

However this bag does have some issues. For one it doesn't stand upright very well, tends to lean to one side then eventually topple over, however please note that it is very stable when the legs are extended. Two, one of the main reason's I bought the bag was the 14 club divider top but this is also a pain. When walking it causes a lot of bag chatter. Three, the bag overall is not very sturdy or solid feeling, ofcourse it being only 4.5 lbs would be the reason for this. Five, I wish it had a separate putter well, since I have a rather short putter at 33.5 inches, the headcover sometimes starts to fall off from the putter, since the grip end doesn't touch the bottom. Six, it doesn't fit in a electric cart very well. True, you just have to turn it sideway and you are fine but there are other bags out there which sit fine/better and have this feature set.

Even with all these nit picks I still really enjoy this bag. However, if i could do it over again I would probably get the Ogio Ozone. However, Ogio bags have their fair share of issues too, mainly quality control. So still haven't found that perfect bag I guess....

Ok great thanks. I really like how the sun mountain as the 14 slots. The only negative I see is that they don't have many color choices. My other question does the white on the slots get really dirty?

golfguy10

I went to go check them out today and they looked great. I do worry about durability and quality with those though.

Why do you say you worry about durability and quality

I got the black one with the red piping. I really can't find fault with it - light, I like the individual club holders and it balances well on my shoulders. I have owned the Cally Warbird, Ogio Grom, and a couple of other stand bags and this one is the best thus far; the Cally Warbird would be my 2nd choice and first choice if on a budget.

I don't think its meant to be stood up without the legs being extended.
14 club divider eliminated 99% of my club chatter when walking. Much better than previous bag. Not sure what kind of clubs you're using but mine are bulky mx-19s and no issues.
Mine feels VERY good, plenty sturdy.
Never had an issue with putter, but I hate the external putter wells

My only complaint about my Four5 is that sometimes only one leg kicks out, but its due to the way I set the bag down, not a fault of the bag.
I could not imagine a better bag (unless it was this bag with a more insulated drink pocket).

I'm looking into this bag as well. My Mizuno Aerolite has held up for more than two years, I'm not sure if Sun Mountain bags will survive that long. Can anyone comment on durability?
